Well i have always thought my town, and any town that has a local park, should have a skatepark of some sort. My town is small, full of old people, and a college town. The kids here have rode bmx since it was invented out here. In the 80s and 90s there were a ton of kids and they all rode in some way. Now we all ride and have a great time, but we want a skatepark and we wouldnt get one mostly because they are old and dont understand really. I was eating dinner a little ago and m dad told me he talked with one of the town council members and the mayor and apparently there is going to be a marching band for the college, which as far as i know has never had before haha. They wanted to do a parade for us to welcome them, then one of them said the old people that live on the main street said they dont want us riding on there, but we do and wont stop haha, there is no rule against it and there arent many cars ever anyways. Anyways, my dad said that maybe they could include us in this some way, and maybe they could build ramps or something and we could perform tricks and then we could have a small skatepark, which i think is great. haha but! i dont know if we are really capable at this moment to do anything too amazing that would really wow a crowd. Maybe by the end of summer for sure, i dont really know when they want to do this anyways, but the point is we need to get ramp blueprints, i dont want any pussy 3 foot ramps haha i doubt they could afford much and it would be made of wood, of course, i think 7 -10 feet is good, and some littler stuff like 5-6 ft for the small kids, and there is PLENTY of space to where it could be haha. What i am asking you is, what kind of ramps do you think we should have (box ramps, half pipe, quarter pipes, etc)? And how do you think we could put together something that people would really go out of their ways to see? I was wondering if we could get professionals (most likely from pittsburgh) out here in some way. Do you know how we could make this happen?
