Some people (rant)

You could quit pissing and bitching and moaning and get a job like the rest of the real world

about that. I live in the middle of nowhere, there are NO jobs around me, i'm 16 so can't drive to a job, I am up to my shoulders in schoolwork. If i could have a job I would but i can't so no need to be such a fucking moron

I get both sides here. I did not have the resources for a nice bike when I was younger, and whined about it, as lots of others were just bought for them, and sweet bikes.

Now, i am older have a 9 year old, decent job and bought him a $700 WTP. There is no minimum requirement for riding time or ability to own a nice bike. It's his stuff, if he wants to be a dick and let it sit, that is his option.

I feel ya though, been there.

I dont feel like people buy my bike for me. My mom buys me tubes and grips when necessary.
but my bike has been 90% from Christmas and birthday ($400 total over the year, from both of my parents, my grand parents, and all my other family) or occasionally ill baby sit my brother for $5 per hour.
So in the end I do get majority of the money for my bikr from my parents, but as Christmas / birthday gifts and babysitting for some of it.
just curious as to how people feel about my situation. Should I still consider it as something I paid for myself?

Zach, I was once a 16 year old too (Believe it or not lol) ALL my Bike Parts came from Birthdays, X-mas's, Gifts from Family i don't see a lot, shit like that. It was a hard time for me lol! Now i am at the place i have made it to now. O.K it REALLY isn't the greatest! BUT..... I get everything i want (I STILL have to save up mind!) & somethings i didn't expect! But You'll make friends, REAL friends! You will get hook ups, You might even get a little work through them! But eventually Life does get better lol! You get a Job shit like that. I know You are working FUCKING HARD right now but the thing with that is Zach, When You are done, think of the Job You'll be able to get! Think of all the money, O.K more than likely Fucking HARD earned money BUT! You will have it & You'll do what most of us older guys have done when that situation presents itself BINGE on Bike Parts!!!!

Keep Cool about it Buddy, life's too short to stress about the little things! Concentrate on the GOOD!!! Let the bad shit slide & leave it behind as You move on!

I spent many years around burners, so easy to get their stuff cheap, lol.

Middle of nowhere = farms. That = Corn detassling, rock picking, odd jobs. Work will ALWAYS take over time from riding. You gotta make the best of it.

YOU GOTTA LOOK for that work.

Outside of that, if I have nice parts that I let sit, you can whine all you want, not gonna change anything. I won't sell to a person who whines that I don't use something.

Why dont you just buy regular cranks? Maybe he likes to ride bikes and just not do stuff on them?
