My area code is "12549" New York and the only close bike shops "I can think of" is joe fix its and dark horse cycles. I don't like them and want to go to a proper Bmx bike shop! Any ideas?

And you wonder why people on here hate you. You give the dumbest answers. He said he wants to GO to a shop. I guess that didn't need an explanation though since you're just a troll.
OP, try googling your zip code + bike shop, or search your zip in a dealer locator on a bmx site. I did your zip on Animalbikes & it came up with these all within 30 miles of you, there were a few more though. They all can get Animal parts so I'd assume they deal with a lot of other bmx brands as well.

Is Danscomp gonna fix your flat when you're several hundred miles away? No. Are they gonna true your wheels? No. Are they gonna let you see/feel something in person before you buy? No.
Several more reasons too but you're a troll so it doesn't matter.

Since i've gotten internet, I haven't been to a bike shop once. As long as you have a few tubes, and know the specs of the parts you are getting, you can live without one. Why there are so few bmx-exclusive shops. Dosen't help that the only bike shops around here carry $200 redlines and only work on road bikes though.
I ride to stay on two wheels and have fun!

Bootleg huh? Perhaps you should obtain photos and send them to those companies?
And GOING to a shop is a way better experience for someone who likes to see what they buy before they buy it, so they can see if it feels cheap or if it would not hold up.
What if you ordered a part, it took say 4 days to arrive, and it felt cheap or weak or you hated the actual color when you got it. To return it you have to send it back, then wait for them to get it, (another 4 days) and THEN order something else assuming you are waiting on the credit, which takes another 4 days to get to you. All together you are out 12 days because you didn't like how the part felt or looked. Go to a shop, you see it, hold it and check it out BEFORE YOU BUY, then you take it right home if you like it, or don't buy if you don't. You would then be out, what, 20 minutes?
Also you can HAGGLE at shops most of the time, to work out a better deal, whereas Dans you can use a coupon code, or pay full price.
Many shops will match dans pricing, and YOU GET IT NOW rather than wait a few days.
I guess the downside is if you don't know what you want or are talking about, the knowledgable shop worker might make fun of you after you leave...and by MIGHT I mean WILL.

hahaha last part is so true. I've done that many times.
But yeah, this x234541.63
Bike shops though don't usually have nearly EVERY part imaginable, Danscomp would though. That's really one of the only advantages I see with them.
Plus if the people at the shop are cool, you can hang around & chill with them too. I know at the shop I work at, we sometimes play bmx DVDs or tapes & when there's no work to be done, we'll pop a video in and watch it with whoever stops by.
