Spinning/foot forward question

I want to be able to spin right.

I currently spin to the left and ride right foot forward.

When learning to spin right should I try to learn it with my left foot forward (Following the opposite rule)? Or with my normal foot forward (right)?

Is there any advantage to being able to ride with either foot forward, or will that just screw me up?

I have ridden my entire life minus two breaks (2009-2011) (half of 2013-now) (I'm 25)

Thanks

Do both. Its just a different trick. Ones an oppo 180, ones an oppo switch footed 180. I dont think theres any advantage, cept it's impressive, its certainly not going to mess anything up.

Personally, i learnt oppo 180s with my normal foot forward. But whst i do notice is when i ride switch footed, i automatically want to spin oppo.

I ride left foot forward spin to the left. Ive tried rididng right foot forward and it just feels weird. Its all personal preference.

You can do it whichever way you think is comfortable.

But typically, you spin away from your front foot. So if you're left foot forward, you spin to the right. Right foot forward, you spin to the left. That's the "correct" way. But you can do whatever you want.

I wouldn't even say "Correct". It's just more common.

Look at Nyquist. He was one of the first dudes trying to crank a 1080, he is left foot forward and spins left.

3's are a bitch for me, let alone 180's, just for the fact that being goofy-footed makes you muscle yourself into the spins so much sometimes..

Haha it sucks ass you have to use so much more force to get all the way around. Ive tried spinning to the right and using my back foot to help push a little bit it works but is sketchy lol
