So as you may have seen, recently Brandon Begin took a rattle can of Purple paint and did what he normally does and completely painted his bike purple (probably something to do with codeine aka purple drank aka lean, you get the point) and honestly I think it looks really cool, it kind of reminds me of that whole "no fucks given" riding which is totally Begin. So after all that I'll get down to why i made this thread, just two little questions because i like others opinions of course:
1-Would you Take a rattle can to your bike like he did? why or why not.
2-What colour would you paint your whole bike? (tire sidewalls, frame, wheels, forks, etc.)

I'm not huge on this, but...

1. I wouldn't do it the same way Begin did, since it's rather reckless. If I were to paint any part, I'd disassemble my bike to get the individual part that I want to paint and sand it down, then paint a few coats. I've done this with my forks, works nice and it's still going strong.

2. This one's just personal preference. However, I'd use the same method for any part except tires. I'd never paint rubber tires. I love my setup and color now, so I wouldn't change it.

I've rattle canned plenty of frames and just finished one now. I do it correctly though, and disassemble the bike completely and go through the steps of sanding, priming, painting, and clearcoating. All I did was the frame though, it's a nice burgundy color. Its too bad I'm selling it...

I'd do it, if I could get new parts for free like a sponsored rider like him haha.

I'd probably do blue, or a bright pink. Maybe a somewhat deep green. The possibilities are almost endless, what with mixing and matching.

I'd paint the frame, forks, pedals, hubguards, and pegs.

Josh stricker done that to his bike at backyard jam 97, painted his whole bike dark green. And a localish guy sprayed his whole bike gold last year too.
I wouldn't do my whole bike one colour, it looks boring. I'd do it a load of colours

Is he seriously into that whole serve/sizzerp/syrup/lean/drank thing, or are you just speculating?

I was just referring to the whole lean thing because his bike is purple like the drink, but he definitely has sipped on syrup before

1. I would do individual parts, but never the whole thing.

2. I would not do the whole bike, so this question is not something I could easily answer.

I've just done some forks and finishing up a 2nd hand frame. Forks have came out nice but the frame is looking pretty bad :/

I disassembled completely and really tried to make it clean, don't like these ghetto spray jobs.

I hear that. Sometimes the spray can nozzle sucks and its really hard to get a nice job without runs. I've been frustrated with so many paint jobs. And the time it takes to sand down runs and try again. Krylon paint has been good to me. But still feels like a gamble every time I decide to disassemble.

I repaint my bike about every 2 years but I do it proper with full disassembly and auto grade paint and sandable primer and it usually takes two days from primer to clear coat. I also buy diamond hard cc from an auto paint shop . End results are as good as your tip and ability to paint. Lots of light layers until covered . It takes patience and as all the auto guys say it's 90 % prep 10% paint. I used a grey primer with nissan gtr galaxy black. Photo

If your layers are dripping your applying to much paint or not standing far enough away. Your basically trying to mist cloud from a foot or more back for each layer as opposed to shooting it from 3 inches away. You shouldn't actually start seeing a solid colour over top your primer for at least 4 layers.
