Sprocket/chainring still wobbles after installing sprocket adapter

I installed a 23.75mm x 19mm x 6mm sprocket adapter onto my sprocket and I first tried it out without the sprocket bolt and it was turning fine with no wobbles at all. However when I screw in the sprocket bolt, one end of the sprocket adapter comes out of the sprocket causing it to wobble. Why is that happening? Did I buy a sprocket adapter with the wrong thickness?

I think at this point you need to start posting pics of what you're working with, maybe even some video.

I was thinking... If I bought a Profile Crank Spider that can be used on 19mm spindles would that mean I won't have to use an adapter anymore?

Appears that the adapter is too long. You can grind it down and eliminate the problem. Basically, you don't want the adapter to hang out of the sprocket hole, it should sit flush or even be thinner than the sprocket.

I see. Is there any other alternative to grinding it down, such as using a spacer between the sprocket bolt and sprocket? Will that work as well?

That would hold your sprocket crooked and mess with your chain alignment. Grind it down until its ALMOST as thick as your sprocket. Just a little bit thinner.

Okay I'll do that. Thanks for the advice.

No, no, no! Use a 22mm spacer. Put it on top of the 19mm adapter and it should go right over it, and take the space up between the adapter and sprocket.

Excellent idea. Good job I haven't grinded it yet.
