What is the main purpose of different sprocket sizes?
Don't push wood. Hump a seat.
to change your gearing?
dont think of it as rape, think of it as surprise sex. and who doesnt love a surprise?
the sprocket size depends of the driver, for example a 9t driver goes with a 25t sprocket, wich is equivalent to 28/10, 30/11, 33/12, 36/13...
some guys like to experiment with the gearing using some bigger or smaller sprockets for a different and comfy feel of the pedaling

He said it all.
Also, I guess for different weights as well.

so you can go faster, gary young style.. also smaller sprocket gives you more clearence for park and street riding
the farther apart you go the harder in it will be to pedal, the closer the easier(44/9 would be hard, 25/9 would be cake, in comparison anyway, thats what i mean)
its gotten down to 25/9 just as a small out of the way sprocket setup for park and street, which is really close to the old standard 44/16 ratio. experiment with what you want and for how you ride and what you ride. as with lots of things on a bmx bike, its rider preference and comfortably.
got bike?

not true u can run a smaller sprocket then 25t if u have a shadow half link you just cant have a smaller driver then 9t you can run a 22/9 n watnot tho
the point to a smaller gear isnt really so its wasy to pedal tho unless you go off ratio like a 25/9 is the same as a 44/16 its just out of the way less likly to bend or break from hitting things
LIVE HARD, RIDE HARD, DIE HARD
no brakes 4 pegs... streets all day

well the shadow half link you can only use it on 9t and larger drivers, but it might work on an 8t but idk
doctor i'm okay, but my bike's sick
