I have a max budget of €50 for a sprocket and chain.

Photo

There's my first option, keep in mind that I have a 25t now, what would 30-9 be like?

2nd option

30 / 9 = 3.33, it's a very heavy gearing. So harder to pedal but faster top speed. Some people do run it, but it is usually heavier than most would ride.

You could probably save a bit of money and get a less expensive chain and then find a different sprocket if the only option is 30T.

On the topic of sprockets can you guys recommend a sprocket which won't bend easily. I'm around 190-200 pounds and I already bent my tree sprocket after a month or so.

Same here with a few bent Tree sprockets under my belt, but they hold up the best so far. At 220lb there isn't much that is gonna hold up better for us heavier guys.

Never thought it was possible to bend a sprocket without smashing it on coping or something.
Congrats

Don't be silly, I'm not that fucking heavy. Mine have all bent from hitting them on stuff once or twice.

I always wanted to try 30/9 but i doubt my sunday funday frame has enough clearance.

If i manage to get the trails i want made i will step it from 25/9 to 28/9 just for them.

If you bent a Tree, you'll never find a sprocket that won't bend for you. I'd recommend not being a sloppy rider.

Except guarded sprockets that have more metal to withstand more than usual impact

Im using the tree 4130 (the chromoly one) and its still in good shape but it is starting to bend since its a bolt drive. Does chromoly bend easier then allumium?

I'm 265 and I've never bent a sprocket. Weight isn't the issue.

My Demolition Spline Drive is super good. No bends, 3 years old, I don't grind drive side though. Oh and I weigh 255 lbs currently. But I also don't do a lot of pedal pressure stuff.
