Straightening a sprocket?

Anybody ever straightened out a wobbly sprocket? If so- how? I heard putting it inbetween two pieces of plywood and parking your car ontop of it over night works

I don't think that would work seems like it would just snap after you try straightening it.

I don't mean like a destroyed sprocket. I mean just bent a little from catching it on a few grinds. Enough to have a tight and loose spot.

I guess it might work, i wouldn't trust it though it seems like it would do too much structural damage like internal crack and stuff

I did, BUT it weakens it. I carefully tapped it with a hammer to straighten it out some.

try it... but if you can still ride it right now just keep riding it... when you do it it wont be long til u need a new one.
Get an mds.. i hit it all the tim and it hasnt bent or anything.. its perfect.

Just put it down on a hard surface like the garage floor and use a rubber mallet and tap it on both sides

I bsically "trued" mine. Turned it and when i got the bend i hit it with a hammer. smile still ride it. And i did that like...... 6 months ago? Its basically straight still.
