I love the way Stranger is going. I didn't care for any rider they dropped, apart from Sean, but Sean LEFT or his contract ended. He is probably gonna get a WAY better sponsor anyways. He has always had kinda crap companies sponsoring him. Premium, Stranger was a step above that, Primo is whatever, good but not as great as it could be. He will get on someone better, hard to say who. Probably something like Cult or Federal or some shit like that.
Stranger is making the best decisions yet. Dropping the people that have the image they don't want. They're gonna probably be seeing Gabe Brooks leaving too I bet. He may stick around though, you never know.
LZ will make the money. The riders giving input is great. I'd test some of that shit! I guarantee it is the best move forward yet.
BMX Sponsorship is taking a turn guys. Riders gotta be more relatable, plain and simple. Harry Main, Scotty Cranmer, and a few others are doing it the way it ought to be. Showing the general public what it means to be a rider and a role model.
Face it, lots of real young kids are what makes money in BMX. Not most of us. Most dudes on here barely spend that much on riding. The 50 bucks here and there or the one build they have isn't what cuts it. It's complete bikes, and trendy shit like colored tires and funky seats and frames with the same geo with a different color called signature.
Little kid's parent's will buy what they can afford, but the kid is gonna pester them to have the "Stranger LZ Complete" (bet that happens too) before they have the Aaron Ross one now. Regardless of quality. Parent's will eat it up. LZ is a parent's wet dream for a kid. Not so much as Tristan Sagastume. LZ gets good grades, treats women with respect, and is straight edge and barely curses (on camera). It's easy thinking people.
BMX needs to make money, and THIS is how it works. Trends and smarter sponsorship. I love it that way too. It doesn't lose it's badassness that it has, but it has that entry level relatability it's gonna need to get kids in and hooked.
It shouldn't mean an end to the older style of BMX. In no way. Just a new side it lacked before. It was a triangle, now it'll be a square. It's great.

Meh, I don't really have a problem with the whole "click here to apply" thing... I think it might give unknown riders a chance to get their name out there and possibly be sponsored... Of course for every 1 up & coming rider, you'll have a bunch of pretentious douche bags like Ben Lorson or some kid who just landed his first 360 or barspin who thinks he's entitled to a sponsorship when really they just want sponsored to say they're sponsored or get free shit.
I'd consider applying but I'm not that big on their parts. I'd probably ride their bars, stem, seat shit, and maybe some other small parts like that but I'm not hungry for a sponsor by them and I like my other parts... so I wouldn't wanna milk a sponsorship like that if I even was considered anyway.

Are you guys this naive? Auguie simoncini pretty much outed the reason in his instagram post, and definitely gave the reason why stranger is falling apart in his tcu interview. I'm not even going to say the reason here. I'm not into Adam LZ but it's disappointing to see that he's being blamed for someone else's doing, which was explained in the interview.

Just like how hookit isn't really a sponsorship, it is a way for them to get free reps without doing much. A kid gets a case of monster a month, and reps the company for basically free, since that case cost them around 1-2 bucks to make total, and shipping costs 10?
I did it for the heck of it. If they even offered me a decent discount on the rare part I need I would be pretty stoked.

Yeah I've been on Hookit and used to receive a free case of monster via Monster Army each month (Contract expires when you hit 21) and I never once claimed to be "sponsored" by Monster. I would say I'm hooked up by a division of Monster but not necessarily sponsored.
Although technically one could argue that it is being sponsored since they're backing you with free product, but kids get on there and get suckered in by random companies into joining the team & claiming they're sponsored when really all they get is 50% or so off overpriced product anyway. Off topic but yeah haha.
I filled out the application for the hell of it as well. They don't make many things I would trust over what I have now (Namely forks, cranks, frame, hubs, rims) but small stuff like a sprocket, pedals, seat shit, I would gladly test for them.

Augie says it was never about Adam lz it was about rich hirsch.
It started off with aaron Brenner leaving(filmer/tip plus employee), after that things got awkward, rich hirsh was always distant.
Then Dylan stark is being put on the stranger instagram posts like if he was always on the team, but no one really hungry out with him casually and were never told that he was going to be apart of the family.
Fast forward to now, augie gets told what he thought about the new pro rider, he thought it was Dylan stark since he's on stranger, but no it's someone totally unrelated, Adam lz who was put to pro right away without even a mention to the team riders.
Now along with the lack of communication, rich hirsch apparently hasn't been paying Demin cox, long time AM kid who got the opening section on the DVD and has been putting in work on stranger footy, so augie felt like it just wasn't the kind of company he wanted to back up so he quit.
It definitely sounds like that's why they're all leaving one by one. Also the sponsored riders seem to back up that theory all over instagram.

Well, I get the butthurt when it comes to no pay etc, BUT if it is someone's company, the other teammates shouldn't be in control over who rides for them. They should be able to put in their two cents, and that's it. They don't own the company, they are employees.
Just like how your boss at work can hire anyone, even if you don't care for them. You can voice your thoughts, but that's it. It is up to your boss who to hire on.
And then all the instagram and other posts bashing the place? That's a pretty weak way to leave a company as well. Their posts just scream how childish they are acting. They very easily could have said "I am no longer riding for Stranger." and left it there. But it seems bashing the company and owners and team was the way they chose. I can tell you I would not bring riders onto my team if they left their previous team that way.

I get what you're saying about about the boss can hire anyone he wants but, i've never joined a company where nobody but the boss had an input on adding an employee to a team.
Even team leaders get to talk to the candidate before the boss eventually adds him to the team.

When you work in a company with 50,000 employees, that happens. Even when I was in a local bike shop with 6 employees in the store, we had zero input with the exception of if we knew the person, we could say whether or not it was a good idea to bring them in, BUT it was still up to the management.
