Yeah how dare he enforce a law that he didn't make! Shame on him.

I'm not sure how the laws in Canada are, but here (Where I live anyway, exact laws vary state to state, probably even city/town) you're required to have a light otherwise you'll get a warning or a fine. Being a douche and telling him to go guard some fucking mail would likely result in a fine, because every time I've been stopped for not having a light I've been polite and walked away without even a written warning.







Just get a cheap light, those Subrosa ones are a bit overpriced. I bought one that looks almost exactly like them, minus the grenade looking thing on the back, for like $6 or $7. Not sure how exactly the battery life compares to the Subrosa one though cause I only turn it on when I see what looks to be a cop coming my way at night, or I'm riding at night in view of a cop, but I'd imagine it's not far off, probably even the same.

BACK TO THE ORIGINAL POST, get the cheap lights, but look up your local city and state bicycle laws to make sure they comply. Some states are minimal, some require more, and cities can add on top of it.

Don't be a dick to the cops, and they typically aren't dicks to you back.
