Nice stem. Every brand should make a cheap but well made stem.

Cool.. I just ordered this, because i fucked (literally fucked) both of my other stems.. one was a Cult Salvation, which I liked a lot.. I got mine for $5 due to the $25 in danscomp rewards I accumulated, luckily.. would've gotten another Salvation, if I had a few extra dollars.. think I'm gonna enjoy this though.. just don't know about the rise.. the Salvation's stack fit flush on the steerer tube, and it had a perfect 1.25 inch rise.. this is higher in both stack and rise.. it is lighter and looks smoother though.. guess I'll find out soon enough..

You need to re-read stuff before you post it. But otherwise decent review.

Just for the record, when I got my BTM... It wasn't "Trendy"

De[ends how hard you ride. If you jump huge sets it might, but any stem will, you know? I was just saying I cant guaranty that it wont slip, but I am confidant in it.

Can we get someone who knows what theyre talking about ove here?
What about the strength on this? It uses a different number of aluminum than the high end stems and is cast aluminum. I have no clue what cast aluminum is and how it effects the strength. And i think it uses a softer aluminum than the higher end stems?

So would a softer aluminum or the fact that its cast aluminum make it have more of a chance of slipping?

I wanna get this stem, im really diggin it, im just kinda sketched on all that^^^

|

Basically... High end stems are solid alum blocks that are machined down to what the final products look like. Mid end stems can be cast and then machined down to save weight and make them a little more pretty. Basically the issues you can have with just cast stems is getting tiny air pockets in the stem as its cooling and it can create micro cracks that can lead to actual cracks.

Low end stems are just cast and are normally sand blasted to smooth them for a better look. Its not a softer aluminum. It just uses different amount of other alloys in the stem that may not be the best quality. Unless you are doing some crazy sean burn style drops etc... you wont have a problem.

I have my degree in Mechanical engineering so anyone who wants to fight me on any topic please feel free.

Dude, Bmxican is right, but the only thing is that this stem is forged, not cast. If you doubt forging, the primo powerbite cranks are forged.

Have you ridden it yet, or still sick?

Got mine today.. feels solid.. and grips very well.. this is definitely the sexiest TL stem I've ever owned.. a little too high for my WTP Mad Max's, but it works very well, especially for the price.. very nice!!
