I was just browsing the tinterweb for any deals on good frames. Found a 2016 Raw Soundwave (NOS), so I called them up. It wasn’t available anymore but they spoke to the UK distro and.....it’s appears the V3 in due out in June/July.

Anyone know anything about this???

Thinking it could be my next project w00t

i hope they keep the wave tubing, its one of the few frames with something different that actually improves the strength and all of the other sunday frames dont have it now.
The only way i could see them improving it is with gussets but im not sure if that woul work with the wave tubing.

I hope they surprise me and find a way to legitimately improve the strongest frame in bmx though.

I know right, I’ve been looking for a frame with a little something different. The soundwave is unique, looks great and I’d love one.

I doubt they'll change it much, everyone loves the soundwave because it's a soundwave.
I'd really like to see a reissue of the og frame though. I'd snap one of those up for sure

I think a bigger range of colours would be a good starting point. I enjoy the raw ones from a few years back Photo

Chad's running the prototype of the new "Princess" colorway.

21.5"+ TT sizes for the taller riders would be nice.

YES THIS! I'm on the 21.25" version now... but I think in a few years I'll need a 21.5"+... and I'd really like another Soundwave....

Yep. Just talked to somw dudes at Full Factory just now, and it is in fact happening! And yeah, it should be out in about 2 months, they said updated geometry, sadly, they couldn't give me the full specs (I wasn't really expecting them to lol) but Bryan, they said they're still not going above 21.25" sad

But still, I'm probably not going to get one, I'm going to still stick with my V1 Soundwave as it's in PRESTINE condition (thanks @Hatebreeder wink)

But I'm stoked! Can't wait to see the updated geometry!

there's no way they won't keep the wave tubing. it's a staple point on their "wave" line of frames, as the name suggests.

I think it'll probably just be updated geometry, possibly thicker tubing in some areas too. I can't really see how they'd improve it much more than it already is. MAYBE add D shaped seat stays like how the chain stays are, even though that's not really hit that often. but I guess we'll see

Interesting. I wonder what they're changing; the current geometry is pretty neutral and nice for everything. It's by far my favourite frame geometry I've had.

Yeah I know same! I hope they don't do anything stupid to it, like make some crazy steep head tube angle, some crazy short back end length, or some super tall bottom bracket height... I really like the current geometry...

I know I have a feeling they probably ruined the stable, good feeling of the Soundwavesad

My fairly baseless prediction is a slightly higher bottom bracket, with slightly shorter chainstays.

I like the current 11.5 bb height though personally.

I can't imagine they'd do anything too drastic; I'd say Beamex's prediction is pretty much spot on.

I can see 11.7" BB and 13.25"CS On the SoundWave.

That's pretty much the exact specs I was thinking as well! But maybe like a 13.3" CS....

I’m down for a slightly longer rear than my btm just for some verity. Hope the don’t make it too short!

I predict a slightly steeper ht angle, slightly shorter back end, slightly taller standover.

Il probably be wrong but thats what I think.

The HT's already pretty steep; I can't see them changing that. The CS is one of the most likely things to change as by today's standards, it's pretty long. I hope they don't increase the standover; there's nothing to gain from it and it'd just make things like whips and no-foot cans that little bit harder.

Again, im probably wrong but those are my predictions and Im sticking to em! Lol

I cant think of anything else that would change besides more tt options... Its a pretty middle of the road frame geo-wise, I think.

Anyway...I just picked up a V2 on vital so Im interested in what is going to be different on the v3.

bump: i know people hate bumps but i have specs for the frame. Chris child's(sponsored by sunday)works at a bike shop near me. the new v3 will have a longer head tube and a shorter 13.25 (slammed) chain stay. thats all that should change but i dont know what colors it will be in.

if you dont care about this information then ignore it
