I'm 6'2' and the frame I want comes in 21.1'' and 21.5'' ( BSD Passenger frame )

I have been riding a 20.75 and i'm hunched over and hit my knees on the stem

Which one??

What are you 6 foot + guys riding??

21.1" probably, wait to see what others think though, others may have differing opinions

I'm about 6ft and ride 20.75" and moving onto a more technical 21" sometime this coming year

Im 6'1" and loved my 21.2" Dinero. Now im on a 21.25" Hawk and for some reason it feels much longer. Im guessing theyre measured differently. Id definitely go for the 21.1" for street and park. If you ride mainly trails, go for the 21.5, the extra stability will be a huge plus. But at the end of the day, its up to.you. Nobody on here can tell you what youll like better.

I feel like a 21.1 would be better man

I know plenty of people that ride 21" and theyre mid 6 foot.

I'm 6'6"
I used to ride a 21.25" FBM Gypsy, but it felt too short. I recently jumped to a 22.5" custom FBM with a 14.125" CS and it feels amazing. I prefer a roomier ride, but even tricks that are supposed to be easier on a short bike, like 3s, have gotten easier for me on the long frame.

I'm 5 10 and riding a custom 21 inch s&m frame , thinking about going longer possibly 22 if I ever get another frame of mine ever needs replaced but I'm not so sure it will

used to ride 20.5 and when I went to 21 turndowns felt much better

Also I notice on 360s over doubles or box jumps feel better with more room on the top tube feels to me like they nose dive in better without kneeing the stem

6' 5"ish on a 21.5" frame. At this height i have been on frames as short as 20.4". In the end, i prefer a longer frame. In your situation I would get a 21.5".

I'm 6'2" and i've rode a 20.5 ever since i started. My back used to hurt from being hunched over. So i bought a top load stem and taller bars. I also put lots of spacers in my headset and my back stopped hurting.

You don't want the 21.1, the passenger has a laid back seat tube so a 21.1 will feel like a 20.8. You want the 21.5 as it would feel like a 21.2

Are you sure bro, ''it says on strictly.com that the 20.5" (rides like a 20.4"), 20.8" toptube (rides like a 20.7") or 21.1" toptube (rides like a 21")'' coz of the 69* ST, but i get whatcha sayin . But on the 21.5 it says nothing and the Chain Stay is bigger than the smaller sizes.

I'm leaning towards the 21.1, thx for the advice dudes

I can tell you now that there conversions are wrong, a 74.5 to a 75 will add 0.1 from the toptube. The old conversions for the TrailOrPark (all the same bar HA) were 20.7 = 20.4, 21.1 = 20.8. Obviously you need to add 0.1 to these to get the passenger ones. ( so it's a 20.9 effectively) I'd recommend you try out a 20.8 on another frame and see what that feels like before you buy anything

It will come in at 20.9 (well as close as makes no difference)
I'm sure it would be fine as long as you don't like really long feeling frames but I'd recommend you try a frame around the 20.8 - 21 mark before buying

Shit sorry it would be 21.1- 20.9 and 21.5- 21.3. My bad the first conversions were the Trail or Park ones

I'm 6' and I really like my Stranger Daytripper in 21.420. Before that I rode two frames in 21.25 and I always felt that I could go bigger. I could still, next frame will be the BSD Raider in 21.6.

|

12/9/2014 11:31 AM

i agree with what JoeDavidson said concerning the seattube height. read this article george french wrote about the effects of seattube and headtube angles on toptube length. it sounds like if your current 20.75" frame has a 75 degree headtube and a 71 degree seattube, the 21.1" BSD won't feel noticeably longer. i still say go for the 21.5"

Cheers for the link i read that ages ago but couldn't remember where or what it was.

So according to the article my 20.75 is effectively a 20.6 coz of the 74.5 headtube

The 21.5 seems more my style now

Depends on the size of the frame, on a frame at 21.25- 21.5 that's pretty normal as It is in proportion with the length of the front triangle. On a 20.5 frame it would feel pretty long

Dude don't even worry about it. You're better off asking a fuck ton of questions and actually knowing about your choices than you are just buying a random frame. Plus now you probably won't have buyers regret (like I did) and you'll have this knowledge when it does break or gets too old
