Has anyone been at a skatepark before and all the kids are beginners and you end up just teaching them tricks?

Today that happened (along with kids that were fans of the BethanyBMX videos we made, i never had fans before), and i ended up teaching all these kids to 180. So i kinda got the urge to make some how to's, or maybe find better techniques to teach people stuff.

For people that are beginners on here, what helps you learn a trick? Is it just helpful tips or just things that make them seem not so scary?

For people that have also taught others, what are the best ways to help people not be scared? What do you tell people?

That's awesome!

Yeah, i can agree that if you're always scared you won't be any good ever, you'll just be a pussy and end up like Adam22 going slow and riding small ass ledges.

I think when i first started the scariest things were drops, flat stuff came real fast for me really. I went for this six stair for like... i wanna say 100 times before i actually went down it and i ended up on my ass anyways. Which made me realize it's not too bad and now it's not even scary anymore. haha

Things that seem to make them less scary. Also to be shown where I've screwed up.

Just teach them to be like you wish you could. Fearless or tech or trails or whatever. I've taught alot of the locals the basics and let them develop their own style from their. Just wish most of them still rode. Living in a drug controlled town is ver depressing

Work up to things. Don't just try to huck a tuck no hander if you can't even do a one hander. Get comfortable on your bike and on whatever you are doing.

If you can't double peg a flat rail, don't try a handrail.

There's this other guy only a couple years younger then me who crossed over from dirt jumping mountain bikes he's killing it with less then 2 years on a Bmx , his goal is to catch up to me he told me , he's already doing 540s on quarterpipes , he's probably the fastest progressing guy I've rode with in person he's hungry
