I pop tubes wayy to much. I started buying the thorn resistant and super heavy duty tubes and they still don't last long. I used to use walmart tubes and when i switched i eliminated pretty much all puncture flats. But now the valves keep tearing off! I am very careful with these things. Is there anything i can do to stop this from happening? I popped another one today and it was pretty much brand new. Also, i know it isn't my rim.

Buy tire liners off danscomp. I have had the same tubes for forever now. Make sure there is no metal deformation on your rim too. Like little pokies on any machining on it. If there are, shave em down. Also, look into better tires. An Animal MTT front and Shadow Valor rear may do you some good. Also, check the entire tire to make sure there is nothing small stuck inside.

I haven't tried tire liners yet. I check my tire and rime carefully every time i change the tube. The rim is brand new and has no burs. I have a rim strip and then like three layers of electrical tape on it. My tire doesn't have anything close to holes. The only place i have problems with tubes is the valves. They just don't make the valve area any thicker.

Ride 100 psi with higher psi you will ruin less tubes

if the problem you're having is ALWAYS at the valve, then there's your problem. You're probably being too rough with the valve when filling your tires up with air. Make sure the valve is straight & centered out of the hole, and that you aren't being rough with the valve. Especially if your pump can be a hassle to get off after that, I know mine is but you need to be careful to not jerk the valve around because that weakens it & if you rip the pump right off then it pulls the valve & stretches the tube in that area & overtime will cause it to split there and leak air

tape the inside of the tire and inside of the rim. Thick tubes and higg pressure(i run 80 in back and 90 in front right now) will also help.

Put some tape around where the valve stem gets cut. I've never had that problem until I got a Gsport Birdcage rim. Idiotic design with an offset valve hole, I mean, CMON!! Offset spokes are okay but then I kept getting my valves ripped every few months and it pissed me the fck off so I just put tape around and on the surface where the valve is.

Take out the little pin in the valve, righty tighty lefty loosey. Drain out the slime. Now you have an extra thick tube no slime.

They make "extra thick" tubes and they are beefy af. You don't need the slime so I drain it.

I ALWAYS do this. I run my tires at at least 100psi. My rims valve hole is smooth.

I've been lucky and haven't had a flat since about mid-summer, and that was max PSI + a hot car for a whole day when it was 100 degrees out.

Now that I say this, both will be flat when I get home.

But if the valve stems are tearing off, you have a sharp spot more than likely in the valve hole. File it round/smooth. It may not feel sharp to the touch but 100 PSI pushing on it with soft rubber could ruin the tube. I do that with EVERY rim I lace up for myself. That or when you air it up you have a crooked valve stem or rip the pump off it.

And I run the cheapest tubes I can find without issue.

I just filed the valve hole a little bit and put strips of duct tape on it. I don't have a tube to test it out with right now.
