I dunno. I just like titanium. I don't know how much weight it will save in total, if it is less than half a pound or something, I might go for it. MIGHT.
its literally like 20 fucking grams
you wont feel a difference and they are expensive as fuck

Grams.... I'm still learning how to "feel" the metric system. Like how to predict how it feels. I've switched to metric as much as possible but in America the imperial system is still widely used. But from what I know 20 grams isn't a lot. (unless we're talking heroin) Ne more question, is it any more rust resistant or stronger than stock bolts?
Edited Date/Time:
20g is less than 2/3 of an ounce, which is 1/16 of a pound, its like adding 3 steel washers to your bike
rust resistant? yeah, but they seize and get stuck, so that sucks more
steel bolts would be stronger, as the strenght to weigh ration of steel is less than titanium, but this is only because titanium is a shitload lighter
id just stick with normal bolts

I like ti too. I don't run any but I wouldn't be opposed to it.

You're just different right?
Why does everyone say that they would run a couple ti parts, but when someone asks about where to get some, everyone flips a shit and goes into hate mode. I was going to see how much my current bolts weighed, then add the total weight of those and compare it to the ti stuff. Who knows?Maybe it's going on a race bike.

I've never said I would run Ti parts, so there's that.

I don't get why people care about a few ounces, does it really make a difference?
I'm gonna need bigger bars
Rich kids buy titanium parts lol. Then they break and the rich kids bitch about breaking them but they buy them again.

I never said i would run TI parts (i know what you said wasnt directed at me just saying) i dont like TI or hollow parts, but yeah i get what you mean about all the hate it gets. but in my opinion the amout of money you'll spend isnt worth the very little your going to save

In my defense, I would only buy all that crap if it saved at least a pound. Plus if I did, it would only be bolts, they are not under pressure like cranks and crap are. If it is worth it, I'll buy, if not, I won't. Half a pound isn't enough. A couple ounces isn't no where near enough.
they dont rust wich is a huge plus, i would run ti bolts not for weight savings just because they won't and keep my stem and seatnclamp are looking fresh
i wouldn't go as far to run a ti spindle, axles, or axle bolts those areas shouldn't have ti
i only have one ti part and thats bar ends they're awesome but a pain to take on and off

Main reason for ti, no rust.
biggybuggy wrote:Main reason for ti, no rust.
Steel only rusts if it oxidizes, so just make sure to grease your bolts and youll never have that problem. Ti is only a couple grams lighter than steel so to put it into perspective if you save 5 grams with the 6 bolts in your stem, you literally save a nickel (coin) worth of weight
For all the little bmx kiddies going out and trying to cop weed, dont get scheisted on the weight check ur dealers scale:
1 dollar bill = 1 g
nickel = 5 gs
bike ammo has ti stuff
