So I took out my sprocket bolt so I could coast and see what it's like having a coaster (kinda)

After two days of doing this my highest half cab is above wheel height, while on a cassette I only get peg height.

Any tips on getting them higher? Other feedback is also good

A video of me doing one, not my highest but decent

Might as well get a coaster, or practice your timing better on the backpedal before hopping.

Don't think I'll be getting a cassette when I need a back wheel

Usually an energy drink sponsor helps, half cab flairs in 3 foot quarters with a few free monsters in you.

basically the same way you bonny hop higher, only you have to time it perfect so your foot has the right leverage and you've turned the bars the right amount at the right time to give you the right amount of initial spin. Pull longer, if that makes any sense, and then when you hop, push your bars forward and suck your legs into your chest. When you hit the sweet spot you'll know. Same kinda thing with hopping high out of manuals. Sweet spot.

this 100%
with a cassette you can use pedal pressure and get way higher than you would on a coaster

Not really all muscle on a coaster, its really more confidence and technique, coming from a coaster riding for 2 years now l0l..

most people do these weird halfcabs, i call them bitchcabs, its like this tiny little no effort halfcab, which makes sense when you are just fakie-ing? out of something, but then you get in this mindset you can't cab any higher... the trick is, do a regular fucking 180, but fucking backwards, holy fuck thats not complicated at all... do a carve, do a high ass hop, and 180, its just like doing it forwards, but your backwards, holy cow thats easy... now you can halfcab as high as you can 180, and if you get the right pop, probably higher...

everything you do in fakie is the same as you do it forwards, just your mind tricks you into thinking its harder, mind over matter pal.
