Tire Pressure

Tire Pressure is a preference that seems to vary extremely from rider to rider. I personally pump up to about 60psi, then run them till they hit about 40psi. Yet to some people 60psi is way too low, they might run 100psi or more! To me, 70psi can feel a little stiff on the wrists and unforgiving.

What do you guys prefer?

I go with what you do, 65 front, 60 rear. I tried 100 once and hated it.

100 to 110 is the norm for me.....rolls so much faster and with more speed the less stress on the wrists, rims and wheels..........wouldn't suggest it for the shorter or new rider because if the bike control or leverage is not there and you case a jump or quarter it'll bounce you straight over the bars to your face

70-90 is where I like it. I feel the higher pressure gives me more pop. Also don't like the feel of low psi on drops and manuals, especially at higher speeds.

I can't ride anything below 60, I prefer to ride about 70-100. As long as my tires don't feel squishy when I ride I'm good

Honestly? Who gives a shit. Its the fucking internet. I hate all of you equally.

hardish for the front, pretty squishy in the back... iwould say the psi, but its probably wrong, coz i use the tyre pump at the local garage and it just pops up with random numbers that havent the slightest bit to do with the actual psi haha

I run 85 psi. If I run trails which I usually don't I'll go down to around 45-55 psi

Don't care for numbers but really low. It feels better for impacts when the tires smoosh out and take most of it away. More grip on the streets and manuals feel more comfy. Also seems I get less flats too.

I know what you mean about landing, but feels to sluggish to me when I'm doing anything else but landing.

I used to run around 90 but i started getting lazy and let them get super soft. I keep them around 40 now and i wouldn't ride anything else, a lot easier on the wrists and i think my tires grip better.

i run around 80 psi. i like em pretty hard. rolls fast, less chance of pinch flats, feel better. i fucking hate the feeling of squishy tires

Don't lie you ride scooter wheels on your little scooter

Tires have suggested PSI. If you run 65-70 PSI on Kenda Kontacts, they'll feel super hard for those, but if you run that kind of PSI on Odyssey tires or something, they feel super mushy.

I can go as low as 60, but I've been riding 80 lately so I can maintain lots of speed during my fakie lines.

100 feels great for me. Feel like I have more of a consistent flow like that, whenever I land i don't necessarily need to start pedaling again, I'm still rolling pretty fast. Compared to low psi where I lose majority of my momentum when I land and have to crank my arse off in the middle of a line. I'm also not a fan of flex on my bike whatsoever, and a squishy tire kind of resembles a flexing feel, I hate it.
But i usually air them up to 110 and don't touch them till around 80. I used to run 120 in my odyysey elm streets (best tires I ever rode)

Also, as for traction, I don't see a need to have less psi just to maintain better grip. Any tire should grip its best if anything at its suggested psi. I know my FAF 2.25 and GLH 2.10 grip perfectly at high or low psi. I guess it just doesnt make sense to me why you'd design a tire that doesn't grip when inflated to the suggested amount. But oh well.
