Hello guys! i've been reading you for a while and decided to start my own account. I have a question that is bothering me: I turned 22 four days ago, do you think i am to old to start riding? It seems like everyone is around 16.

Nah man , I'm 21 and regularly take months off due to multiple reasons , but I've ridden with people my age who just start and its always a good time . It's because the 16 -19 year olds seem genuinely stoked to ride so of you get along with them , you will improve fast . My buddy is 20 and cant 180 but he still comes and flows around the park. We have fun together , he films me trying stuff , I get him to try stuff . Always a good time

I was 16 forty-one years ago. I've got t-shirts older than you.

I started riding at 25 last summer, and now one year later I've landed barspins and almost whips. The only limit is your motivation, but at that age you're in good enough shape to ride very often.

I'm 37, and got back into riding 5 years ago after a fairly long break. Do it!

25 here and just got back to riding, going way better than when I was 16. I'd say you're in the best age to get into riding, just go for it.

I started riding about 1 1/2- 2 years ago. Its hard to say since I was off for months due to an injury but Id say I have been on my bike for about a year and a half solid and im 30. Never rode bmx or did tricks on a bike besides riding up and down curbs.

You are still a young man. Imo

You’re in your prime. I’m 35, back riding after a very long hiatus. You’re a spring chicken! Get out there and have fun on your bike mate! And welcome to the forum.

Don’t put 25.4 bars in a 22.2 stem.

I'm 30 and I haven't even started yet (getting there). But I did ride from 2002 until about 2009.

50 here... I HATE having to be honest about that. Took a LONG time off from BMX to mountain bike, motorcycle & do nothing important. Lots of wasted time. So, no, you aren't too old by any stretch.

Too old for fun? Too old for shinners? Too old for a little kids bike? NEVER!

I’m 43, been riding since I was in elementary school took a break to ride mountain bikes after a knee surgery but that was only for 2-4yrs now trying to get back into the flow after a break. So NO never too old just remember that you don’t heal like you are 20 anyone and ride in a comfortable zone till you are ready to advance. Bike control will let you know if you are, trust me

Am I the only one that thinks it's hilarious when 20 something people ask if they're too old for something? I'm 42 and I bought a 24" bike two years ago, bought a 20" this spring after not riding for about 17 years. You're never too old to have fun.

|

I'm 19 but my knees feel 64. . .

If I'm fully honest I thought about being too old when I was doing stuff at 20. Now at 25 I just say fuck it, age doesn't matter for shit if you like what you do. And yes, it is hilarious to think you're too old at 20 something

I'm 32 and got back to it after 14 years out, you're definitely not too old. Also fuck what any peers say, live your life and do things that make you happy.

If I could go a tenth as high as Larry Edgar goes, then I would still be blasting super high.

I'm 28 and started back up around 24 ..I dont ride more than a few hours a week but and I still have fun and learn new things

Age is a number. I have had 3 total knee surgeries and I still ride when I have time. Age isn’t a factor in BMX, the fear of injury and the way you have to go about knowing that if you get hurt after say 25 you are going to take longer to heal then you did at 20. If you are fine with that then you are set to go.

The limitations are in the mind and how far you are going to push your ability on a bike. I suggest anyone that is thinking they are too old to get into mountain biking for awhile. Less strain on the body but you can still ride at a high level and jump and stuff. After say 1yr if you still want to ride BMX you have the bike handling and endurance to get real good pretty fast
