I did it!

Made them out of solid steel (carbon) and they weight 112g

I will pass them on to my kids and grandkids and great grandkids and so on until our current civilization will fall and future archeologists will uncover them in a grave!

Yes aluminum is slightly lighter, but titanium wears like steel..

Odyssey par ends dont damage things as much when you bail or have to transport your bike in a vehicle.

Very cool bar ends though. Simple

I made them after a pair of aluminium ones.
Weight's not really an issue.

I'd say to try replicate Par-ends:
Get the overall shape and dimensions right, centre drill it, tap it for tapered pipe thread and then split the wedge with a bandsaw or a hacksaw. Should be quite easy .
