I'm building a trails bike and my color way is going to be black and gum the only tires that I've seen people ride trails that come in gum with black sidewall tires are Cult Dehart's just wondering if anyone had any opinions on those tires. Thanks in advance!

If it has gum tires, it's not a trail bike. Mainly because no trail tires come in gum.

1. Gum is retarded
2. you haven't even built trails yet
3. you don't need trail tires to ride trails
4. Gum is retarded

This. Fly Rubens, Aitkens, Shadow Valor (it's actually not bad, but no gum), and the original odyssey path in the rear 2.1 and the 2.2 dirt path up front, too bad they don't make them sad

Really, you can ride slicks, but it's a BAD idea just because it makes it unnecessarily harder. Get two 2.25 Aitken P Lytes. I'd swear by them if i had the money to buy them right now.

To ride trails, you'll need a front tire with an agressive tread, like a fly ruben, and for the back you can ride approxymately what you want if your trail is dry, just avoid slick ones or you'll slip at the first turn.

Are Valor's good for trails? They seem to look too slick for trails they're thick so I'd ride them if they're good for trails

at one point i was considering getting t/a's,. but then i realized the sheer stupidity of buying tires that come bald
colored tires are ok, but screw slicks and anything over 2.3 inflated

I run aitkins but I have also ridden primo comets for dirt for ages too. In reality though tires don't really matter for trails anymore because people aren't riding jumps that are too wet or too dry anymore. If you do you will be killed by the diggers.
If you get gum you like it in the bum

If you can find one anymore get the primo dirt monster the best dirt tire i ever ran, if you can't find that then like others said pick up the odsy Aitken Tire knobby or normal will be great.
