Today was the first day I was able to hit up a park since August (two kids at home, one is an infant). I met some cool people and they asked me if I wanted to play a game of BIKE. I laughed and said, "I just got my bike in February and suck, but what the hell." I'll get straight to the point. One of the tricks called out was a 360 out of a bank, no tire tap. I just recently learned flat 180s, and still struggle with getting out of fakie consistently on them. I got some speed, hit the top of the bank, rotated my head all the way around (good thing I used to snowboard because I'm used to the mechanics of rotating), spotted the landing and some how got it clean. I've never even attempted a 3 on a bike so I was pumped. One of the other tricks was a 3 to fakie on the quarterpipe. As I said, I'm still sketchy on getting out of fakie consistently, but I went for it. No crap, I over rotated it and did a 540 below the coping, but I landed with my balance shifted too much to my right and sketched out. I about crapped my pants and so did they. I ultimately didn't win, but had a great time. I'm really glad I decided to play BIKE, and feel it can push you past your comfort zone to try things you may have never thought of trying, or ever thought you could do.
