yer stay with the big bars just spend some money bro

|

only way your lightening up your bike is spend money... if you buy a pivitol seat and post that weighs in somewhere under a pound and depending what seat your using with zipties that might weigh as much as a pivitol setup

|

get a lighter fork it takes the most weight off witout gettin a new frame

|

Get a lighter fork and wheels and don't cut the bars!!

BIG BARS ROCK!!

yeah, dont cut the bars, if they're too big, jsut buy smaller ones, cuz the ones you got are made to be taht size.

lighter forks and stem will help the front,

rims will help the back.

but the whole zip tie the seat thing,,, ehhh, just cut your seat post down to like an inch. thats what i did, bike is like a feather

[LINK TO IMAGE] it's one piece, making it lighter than any pivital seat/post combo. or you could just leave your bike at 30 lbs like i did.

|

4/1/2008 4:06 PM

what i did is got odessey race forks then i got a lighter back wheel to distribute the weight, but tires are a easy 30-60 buck change in weight

|

Cut the seatpost, bars, and axles. Big bars R not 4 me, I haven't learnt X-ups yet 'cause of my 27" bars.(I'm hoping to get some smaller ones)

|

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

4/1/2008 5:24 PM

if i dont cut down or get smaller bars im not fitting any x-ups any time soon cuz im sorta small and cant lean back very far.i might just trim them. im thinkin bout the forks cuz i have like no money

if you haven't learnt x-ups yet i wouldn't worry about getting a really good light bike
just ride it liek it is and get better when you start improving then start to make it lighter and you will find you get better faster that way. But if you do want to make your bike light then get a pivotal and also get light cranks they make a big diff to the back end. What is that person on about drill your frame?! that will make cracks appear and then you will have to get a new one.

if you want a light bike get a light frame for starters then make sure your cranks are light. i have the demolition titanium medial cranks and there insanely light like 23oz or somthing. then a must is plastic pedals, the eastern ones are 14oz and there only $15, and there strong cus there carbon fiber renforced so if you think your gna break them then your prob too fat to be riding bmx.... then if your really picky get the pivotal seat and post combo. my bike is 23lbs so i guess i might know what im talking about lol

blind eyes could look at me and see the truth
