Just got the KINK whip, just wondering what would be the first thing you'd upgrade, my wife wants to buy me a present and what better then a upgrade for my new bike, what would you upgrade first?

The first thing that breaks

But if you will upgrade anyway the first thing I would do is things like pedals, grips and tyres. Basically anything that is a contact point between you and the bike or the bike and the floor.

Have her get you a helmet & maybe some other safety gear. Your have a fully capable bikes as is. No point in wasting money repacking something that doesn't need replacing.

I just saw your post in the other thread about the tt being too short.
I'm not saying that you should do this as everyone fits bikes differently but if you do feel cramped you could upgrade to a longer stem to compensate for the shorter tt.
However if you do this keep in mind it will change other things about the way your bike feels and handles aswell.

Idk... like Mishinn said some safety gear would be cool... I always wear safety gear, a helmet and gloves 100% of the time and I just ordered sone elbow and knee pads becasue my last crash I scraped the sh*t out of my knee and elbow and scraping your elbow and knees suck becasue you can move them becasue they're so swollen and all scabbed up lol...

|

I don't crash, I do random gravity checks...

Tell her to buy you tools so you can build a mega ramp

How tall are you? And your weight if you don't mind

|

Stem and maybe longer bars but that's all personal preference.

|

I think the mega ramp is the best idea so far...

Bob is my neighbor, so I have dreamland right down the street, pretty much a mega ramp in my backyard, just have to ask permission to use it of course. I'm 5"11 about 200lbs 197ish to be exact

Stem seems like a good idea, or anything else to dial the bike in. Is there anything else you're not a fan of? Like the seat? Tyres? Bar height?

|

Nope only concern really was the TT length

stem, maybe. taller bars generally make me feel better on shorter TT bikes. Assuming the Stem is like 50+mm already.

Wear items are great gifts, Pedals, Tires, tubes, grips.

Also, seats are always fun to change up IMO.

Knee pads? Get knee pads. Trust me. Then go out and break something, THEN upgrade it.

If it has hi-ten forks change them asap...you toss your bike off a ramp once and you could fold them...ive never seen hi-ten forks hold up through any intermediate riding

They are chromoly forks, and the shin pads I have are slip on they have ankle and knee pad and shin pad in one

If it still comes with that Mission stem, get rid of it quick before it slips on you.

Possibly the brake or just pads if you like using a brake, maybe peddles.

I do not know about yourself or others, I am pretty finicky about parts and the feel of the parts that come in contact with me and the bike.
