I am just getting into bmx and o ly know how to do bunny hop and 180s (learned like 7 years ago with some bad chinese bmx). I need to buy a bmx to ride and practice. I can buy some second hand bike for ~400$ with ok custom parts or brand new We The People Reason 2018 for ~450. Not really sure what to choose. Any advices?

The custom bike seems pretty nice, I'd get that over the We The People for sure... and I'd try to talk him down to $350 and it'd be a good deal unless you're happy paying $400... but if it were me I'd ask $350, and he'll most likely say yes so that's what I'd do....

Of you want a gyro, then get this bike, it's a frickin solid ass bike dude. If you can afford it, go for it!

Honestly, the crysis and the second hand are purely choice. That second hand is a full custom but it has r32 forks which might be too unresponsive for some, and there’s no telling on the condition of the bike (although custom bikes are extremely tough because aftermarket is tough as hell), while the crysis will do good in street, park, and trails. You’ll get a warranty on every part if you buy the crysis because it’s new, honestly I’d go with that. Don’t get the reason if you can get the crysis, the reason isn’t full chromoly and won’t last you as long as the crysis. Only the front triangle is chromoly (top tube, down tube, and seat tube) which leaves the other tubes (head tube, bottom bracket, chain stays, and seat stays) suspectible to breaking.
Basically, get the crysis if you have the money, but if you don’t, get the custom second hand. The second hand also has the odyssey forks which are tough as hell to the point where they have a lifetime warranty (and I mean lifetime when I say it), although it’s void if you sell the forks to someone else...
Also, the Montana frame on the second hand is tough as hell too, but like I said though, you won’t be getting any warranty on the custom parts because they are second hand which means you have no proof of purchase, as you can’t prove that you obtained the forks from the shop or website they were bought from.

The crysis doesn’t have a gyro, but the versus does, only thing is that it’s about 600kr more (about $80) it’s slightly better though, and it’s got everything it needs to run a gyro including gyro tabs, gyro, and brake (this would cost about the same amount to buy for the bike anyways)
