Yesterday, I was talking to a friend of mine and I said "I can barely 3 tap anymore. Before I was doing them consistently and I was actually working on getting my 3s clean too but now I just try to spin as fast as I can and it makes me fall to the side. I don't even know what to try anymore." and after talking a little more, he suggested taking some or all of my pegs off until I can get clean 360s consistently and then put them back on and I should be able to do clean 3s with all 4 pegs. He said "Once you learn how to ride a bike, you can ride ALL of the bikes, right?" So once I can do clean 360s on my bike with less pegs, I will be able to clean 3s on my bike with 4 pegs? It seemed like a flawed logic but MaximusBikes has never steered me in the wrong direction before. I'm considering doing this because I don't do many oppo grinds, I can barely oppo feeble. I just started doing crooks yesterday though. I can take pegs off and put them back on with no problem so that isn't the issue, I'm just not sure if sort of "worrying" about weight will help me get cleaner 360s.

I found when I dropped my pegs for a session my bike was too light and actually made my riding harder to control.

i think it's more of a mental thing that anything else haha. i took my whole gyro setup and brakes off for a weekend just to change things up a bit and make my bike feel "light" again but i really didn't feel any difference when hopping and whatnot, it probably just felt easier to move around on because of how bare and simple it looked (I'm used to seeing it with brakes and cables everywhere). granted 4 steel pegs and a bunch of guards weight more than the gyro setup and brakes so you may feel some difference there but i doubt it'll matter much. if you think it'll help make your bike feel easier to toss around then sure, give it a shot!

I had 2 stock pegs that were probably heavy as fuck that I took off, and I honestly didn't feel a difference

I've got 2 Cult Butter pegs, a stolen thermalite, and then 1 Primo Binary. And a guards on my non drive side.

I can hop as high as I could with 2 pegs with 4 so it doesn't effect me when hopping but I was thinking maybe it could help me spin faster if I took them off.

One of My Friends swears blind He can dip 3 better with 4 Pegs because He uses there "Weight" to help drop the Bike when He spins blink Not quite sure how that works or if it's A. Total Bull Shit or 2. All in his head!

I wouldn't take off my pegs. It throws the weight off and messes me up. Makes my bike too light!

Pegs are not a factor when it comes to bike control, sure they add more weight but it's insignificant, unless you're running some crazy super heavy pegs for some reason. Seriously, think about, the margin of weight is so small. With or without pegs, no effect on bike control.

I'm going to say this again, i wouldn't tell you if i didnt watch it be the problem. haha You cant fling your bike around right to control it right now. Once you know how it feels, youll have better control overall. I think a week dropping your oppo side pegs will do you some good.

It isnt a worrying. I am telling you though, it helps with picking your backend up.

I did also say that if you just start practicing threes more that itll fix that problem too.

I hate light bikes ! They're too easy to pop and feel like I'll snap the frame ! Manuals are too twitchy and it's like riding a feather. 4 peg that bitch , get FAT tires , hubguard that shit and make it bombproof ; it feels good pulling up like fuck and tucking out a nice heavy / bombproof bike.

Pretty good. I've snapped a sleeve though. That's really the only problem that I've had with them. They slide REALLY nice though. I'd recommend getting them though!

If you don't do something for a while, sometimes that happens. Go practice some more, and quit putting a ton of pressure on yourself.

Losing pegs may help because you'll take a couple lbs off the bike, but putting them back on MAY cause a similar issue.

Dont mean to thread jack, but bmxfromma get United Stealths. haha i really really like em. The sleeves are extra thick and last way longer and slide even better than most plastics. I got em and have been grinding really shitty concrete and they still slide perfect and barely any wear.

2004 Macniel Miron, Rock some Alex Supra E 48s, some Profile Cranks and some thick tires.

It would be about 40 lbs.

You want bomb proof, find parts from the early 00's. I rode those rims for 4 years, NEVER trued, NEVER BENT.
