I thought it would be fun to get a thread going of everyone's progress and that it might compliment the "Shot of the Day" thread started by EskimoJay. Basically just post anything that you've recently learned or improved on. It could be a good way of tracking your own progress and trick lest as well. Sorry if something like this thread already exists.

Last night I learned:
nosey up banks to manual
Consistent 360s bank to deck
Sub box Ice Stalls
Feeble to easy 180s (still sketchy)

So true. In fact, if what you're doing doesn't rely on wind to be a thing, wind sucks.

I refuse to believe that you JUST learned that today.

Sounds like a blast.

Rode last night. DIdn't learn anything new but landed a clean feeble easy 180 off an up ledge we put at the top of a bank. Was pumped on manualing it too as it was high enough to go over the bars off the end. Had to hit it with speed. No 1mph ledge tricks here.

|

3/3/2017 12:48 PM

I got better in manual.

|

Land it or go home

3/8/2017 2:11 PM

Improved my fakies. Figured out that looking forward helps a lot instead of straight down at the front wheel. Gonna learn backlashes now.

|

3/8/2017 4:09 PM

Got the replacement fork-Sunday Octave for 40 bucks from a homie who didn't trash it. Sweet.

Next up, front wheel, cranks, and eventually frame.

Once I get my fatbike sold, I can get the road bike I want, then use the spare cash for BMX stuff.

YAY!

nice man. I was trying switch backlashes last night and I think I'm better off just trying it opposite. I'm really fuck footed so those type of tricks are tough for me. I did a bar height hop up manual to feeble that I was really happy with. My back hates me for it today lol.

I learned that I should not second guess my foot placement on my pedal in mid-jump...

Photo

BUT, I also had a 5 hour session with my step son today in a completely empty park. A park that is normally so full that you can't see the cement. (Love 25 degree weather!!). We both built, and refound some skills. I got over some drop in "fear of heights" stuff, as well as was able to get about a foot of air out of a 6 foot quarter pipe....for most every one on the board that is nothing, but for me it is a major step...once again, eclipsing some major "fear of heights" stuff that I have had all my life

We played some "follow the leader" as he started being able to see some lines and was learning to pump. I was honestly doing some stuff in bowls and on ledges at speeds I never would have even considered a year ago.

also practiced fakies some more and straight out bunny hops, and ran into a friend I had not seen in 10 years with his kids. He just bought himself a Fit Benny 2 and is getting back into it with his kids as well....

I am in that good kind of pain right now where everything hurts because it got used.

Lastly, I learned that I should not take long breaks between park sessions, and how awesome this activity is, no matter how old my body feels...

I learned that no matter how loud the squeak is from a wet shoe stopping a wet tire, pedestrians will not look up from their phones. But the moment I attempt a 180 at a crosswalk and bust my ass, EVERYONE(especially girls) will notice.

Learned hop half bars yesterday. Nothing impressive, but a huge hurdle for me. I've always been uneasy about taking my hands off, but everyone throws a bar in and out of every line and they look fun. Hope to get the full bar soon.

Half bars are where it's at! I'm going to relearn them, and but refuse to do full bars because they're so common
