I mean, is not very famous in the BMX, everybody knows it but is not like everybody does it. They have their own bike design and all of that. I personally don't like it because i like being on the air and jumping speed etc. But i don't think flatland is gay, they have to practice hard too and they fall (not as bad as park or street but yeah) Also i do some flatland tricks on the street or park like the tailwhip but thats it. What do you think?

it's not my thing but i respect it. it looks hard as fuck to do and i bet it requires some ridiculous bike control. while it might not be a huge thing around here i feel like it's much more widespread in asia (i'm from that continent and i see a lot of it over there)

It's a completely respectable discipline.

It is dope as hell. I wish I could do 5% of what a pro can do ! Imagine the time learning manuals and nose manuals , then with flatland you have hundreds of combo's with spinning around , jumping on and off pegs , crazy other shit like that. Mad respect for flatland . I wish it had more rep then it does now . Riders like Matthias Dandois are bridging the gap pretty well.

It's completely dope. From someone who can't properly manual, the amount of balance alone makes me have an insane amount of respect for them

Honestly? Who gives a shit. Its the fucking internet. I hate all of you equally.

I've tried it. I don't have the balance for that shit. But I do think it's fucking awesome

I love messing with flat tricks, however i dont have the patience to take it seriously. Much respect to anyone who can ride flat.

Flatland is the root of ALL riding. Those guys are more dedicated to their bikes than ANY OTHER RIDER. Period. They ride 10-12 HOURS DAILY. ONLY in parking lots. Their level of balance is insane.

I think all riders should give flatland a run. The tailwhip (assuming you mean footjam whip?) is a flatland trick, if you are in air, it wasn't until 91 when Bill Nitschke (sp) was the first guy to hop one, calling it the whopper.

I do flatland trick on a street bike since flatland parts are expensive as fuck. I ain't good at it yet though.
It's hard but it's harder when you're fuck-footed (like me).

You say BMX is your life but you barely ride.
BUT hey, That's none of my business.

massive respect for flat riders, to even be acceptable at it requires so much work. Really impresses me that anyone can have the patience to get into it in the first place let alone the ability

I ride flatland, worship me.

I suck at flatland. I also ride ramps.

Flatland is so damn hard , I mess around with it once in a while but I'm not very good at it

Every dicipline has design catered to them, and in all disciplines, some people dont ride what is the common geometry. Flatland is by no means special that it has its own design, they are just very different aestheticly, although there are reasons for it, better clearance etc.
Flatland is crazy, mad and stupidly hard. I get bored watching it though.

I'm really starting to dig the flatland tricks, started riding "seriously' about 3-4 years ago on ramps, as in taking hands and feet off while in the air and making it ALL the way over a box jump, so I'm finally getting comfortable on my bike. Once the cold weather hits I'll have about 5-6 months of flatland practice in my garage, hope to be able to do some tricky maneuvers by springtime. It should help big time with all around bike control and balance.

Matthias Dandois is a great example of this and it is like a faster and cleaner tech street
