It's called freestyle. That's their style and they're free to do it
I'm on the vital legit list!
Props to them for doing it on those huge ass bikes
Honestly? Who gives a shit. Its the fucking internet. I hate all of you equally.

Your so simple minded if you think that if you do tricks it has to be on a 20" bike.

The first breath is the beginning of death
I don't think you have to HAVE a 20" to do tricks. I just think that sense they are brakeless and doing like all bmx tricks why would anyone rather ride one of those bikes?

Sweet I'm not the only one who dislikes FSFG
Yes that shit is stupid
No fixie race/cruising isn't
Yes FSFG is
Annoying how this is considered gay to you guys but those FSFG stuff isn't. think about it one is smooth and actually pretty original and one is a bigger and awkward to look at style of freestyle

Like Broken said, you're very simple minded. They do tricks on THOSE bikes because they want too. Why is that so difficult for you to understand?

I have no actual problem with people who choose to ride them and do tricks on them, it's whatever since they like to do that. I just feel like it's not good for the bikes they're riding. My knowledge of those bikes is very limited but I would imagine a lot of them are not meant to be ridden like that. But I'm sure they make parts that they can upgrade to that would be more ideal for that kind of riding.

They've got volume, FBM, and subrosa making fixes and parts now, I think they've thankfully stopped though

There's nothing wrong with those people. They're having fun on their bikes just like you are.

Comfort. Some people are not comfortable on a 20". Some people started with an MTB in the woods and progressed into tricks but a 20 feels too small.
Some got a fixie for commuting and started hopping stuff on it.
Some people just like those bikes?
I know roadies who got into fixie riding to break away from just hauling ass everywhere.

freestyle mtb or bmx I cant understand the whole fixie thing I think they just look stupid and fragile/not safe why not just mtb if you think bmx is to small
BORN FAST ish
Hipsters.
That's all you need for an answer.

Nothing is wrong with them. They seem have fun riding. Don't judge because they aren't judging us.
You say BMX is your life but you barely ride.
BUT hey, That's none of my business.
I mean let's be honest, if you skate, why not just ride a BMX? It's the same obsatcles.
While we're at it, every scooter kid should ride too, imagine how fun it'd be riding with those kids snaking you all day long.

26' and 24' bikes are harder and heavier so they help you dial in tricks more and get you used to pulling up

There is so many different opinions on this video.Just like to add a little something. This has been going on way before internet or cell phones we even invented.Back then that is what we had to ride.Nothing like jumping over trash cans with your Aunt's 1979 schwinn 3 speed and tacoing the back rim. As for cruiser bikes ( 24" & above ) made it big in ABA around 1983. Adults and heavier kids were able to race in the cruiser class. Now we knock something that has brought bmx to what it is today?

trendy hipsters on fixed gears have nothing to do with what made bmx today

But bikes with larger wheels did. Who gives a flying fuck what kind f hipster lifestyle they live?

a fixed gear road bike and a 24" bmx are still completely different so i don't know how this is relevant at all.
and the fact that they are hipsters is the entire point. if it was "hip" to ride bmx then they would and most these guys probably used to ride bmx which is why they can do so many tricks but now it's "cooler" to ride a fixie than a bmx so that's why they do it...that's what hipsters do.

Yeah, it was cool back then so maybe history is repeating it self..Cruiser bike did have a very big impact on bmx. The reason I know why is because I lived it

Both have a frame, fork, bars, wheels, and one speed. One has bigger wheels, and you can't coast. Pretty similar imo. Maybe they like riding the fixies better. Because it's more of a challenge. Maybe they are in in because it's "hip". Or maybe because it's just different, and they like that. Who gives a crap why they're doing it.
And to many of the haters, not ironmaiden666 (because I haven't seen you say this, just argue against brian Griffin) It's like racism. So many people here going "It's fucken gay and akward and lame" why? He hasn't snaked you. The community as a whole hasn't done anything to you. They're doing something different. Different from you. And that makes it "bad", and, "fucken gay".
when they create their own style and way of riding I will happily accept Fixie riding but copying easy BMX tricks and making them look really awkward isn't cool.
End of the day many of these people have moved from BMX and lets face it, the only way they can claim this to be more of a challenge would be if they were already the best at BMX and as they aren't its fairly apparent they are only doing it because its the next cool thing.
Fixie riding also has nothing to do with cruisers or anything else, they are derived from break-less courier bikes used in cities not from a BMX race track, the only way they are inherently related is in that they are both bikes.
Fixie riding has it's place, they are great for cruising around town on but that's it, I dunno maybe its just me but I can't see any reasonable logic in using one of these for freestyle over a mountain bike or BMX
Oh it's Fixie riding (I didn't watch) that shit is sick ! Like damn doing tricks on a BMX bike is hard enough but on those things is just crazy.

Fixie freestyle riding are for bmx riders who didn't make it as pro, moving to a similar sport where you can count the freestyle riders by your hand so they can be the big fish in a small pond.
