If you're rolling forward from doing a 180º one of two things is happening:

1 - Inertia and physics cease to follow their rules in your neighborhood

2 - You're not going fast enough

But yeah, a video would help.

This happened to me for a long time. What helped me was hopping higher as I span so that I landed backwards rather than in a fakie-carve that basically broke it down into just landing backwards after I had the higher 180 down so I had less to focus on.

This. Especially #1.

I would bet you are just going very slow and or pushing down on the pedals so the second you land you start going forward.

Try going a bit faster.

this ^. i'd bet your basically doing a 90. I had same issue.

I used a line on the ground to help me out. basically stay parallel to it best you can.

Are you doing them on a large hill?

If I could go a tenth as high as Larry Edgar goes, then I would still be blasting super high.

Lean over your backwheel when you land, speed helps too.
I had the same problem when learning fullcabs.
