Going to start putting this together soon. 2017 S&M Black Magic frame with a 21.25" tt, S&M Race XLT fork and S&M Race XLT bars, 9.75". Setting this up for speed and stability. Still gathering some bits but should be ready to ride when spring returns.

The white bars/ forks are an awesome combo!

What colors are you thinking of going with for the wheels, cranks and seat post?

Big fan of trans green, but I expect this build will be white with black accents. Good trans green is hard to find. White and black will age well.

Got a sweet 28 tooth sprocket, but am concerned with chain stay brake clearance. Matty Aquizap runs a 41 tooth front sprocket and his prototype frame runs the cable through the seat tube, not around it like on the production version. Planning on running an Odyssey Springfield. More experienced hands out there see an issue with clearance on the horizon?

Yet another reason to dig S&M. Called them today and spoke with Arnold Vigoa, a sales rep who helped me last year settle on the Black Magic. Dude is always helpful. So I asked about the sprocket clearance and he said most people run 36t on this particular frame. Told me he'd ask the guys in production and get back to me, which he did with a phone call. Seems someone has run a 31t sprocket no problem, but he admitted that no one knew if the 28 would work or not. Honest answer. Sure was nice to be treated like I mattered, though. S&M has certainly earned my loyalty and continued business.

Cool thing is, Arnold gave me a lead on some custom sprocket options. Hopefully will have more on that soon.

Can't recommend S&M enough if your looking to roll your own. Great outfit.
