hi ten is stornger but the welds aren't.. sooo hi ten technically is stonger than chromoly.. im 99% sure. but just in case lets ask chuck..

Well, you can always google "Tensile strength, 4130 chromoly vs Hi ten steel." Since we don't have the exact number of the steel alloy, we won't know exactly, but no. Hi ten is not as strong as chromo. You need to increase the thickness of the tubing to make equal strength, which adds quite a bit of weight. If a hi ten frame were made out of the same exact wall thickness D.O.M. Tubing as the Chromo frame you're currently riding, even if heat treated, you would likely fold it within a week. Maybe on the first ride depending on what you did.
