X-Games 2015 Discussion

Anything that gets more attention for potential new people to get into bmx will help bring money into the industry can't be a bad thing , but I forsee this thread becoming a hate fest , I'm stoked for x games I'm hoping drew bezanson gets that gold in park

Park course is super wide and looks like shit to ride , last years trifecta bullshit box jump seemed like a joke , the stitching design is cool but pretty fucking gay . Reminds me of True Religion jeans that cost 300$ + in a bmx course .

They invited girls though , which is pretty dope . Rodeo Peanut all over that

I'm going this weekend to watch it, but not just for BMX.

Not bummed at all street got dropped , that was the only bmx event I didn't care if i caught or not , pre fab plaza stuff bores the hell out of me, stoked to see moto x quarterpipe that should be wild , And mega ramp doubles could be a deathtrap

Anyone see the meme for X-Games doubles ? Shit is a fucking joke . People bitch about views but they can watch people on a plank of wood grind curbs on the xgames street , but ooohhh nooooo BMX isn't making us money so fuck street and just slap another mega ramp comp , idiots love seeing big air'

After seeing the Dennis McCoy mat hoffman collision video in a vert ramp, im could see death collision on a mega ramp , I'd rather them replace street with bmx speed and style rather than mega ramp doubles just sounds unneccisarily dangerous

I still can't believe they both got out of that one okay. Mega ramp doubles is so retarded that there's literally only two teams of two competing. Idk if this means everyone gets prize money lol

I don't really even care that they dropped street. It aint street if it was built for a comp. the street series is the only legit street comp. The x-games isn't all that interesting, i like watching the riding but the judging is off.

So if you ride a skatepark you ain't street then huh

I love guys like Clint Reynolds and Doyle , but I like their videos parts for trails riding , in an x games contest really doesn't compare to trails it doesn't make sense to me how they're invited when guys like luke parslow,cory nastazio, and Paul langlands aren't invited and it is x games you would think they would want all the big trick monsters in and not have motowhips and Chris Doyle contest runs (360 whip,3 turndown,3 table,no footed can can, tailwhip,occasional 720, pretty much been his run for the last ten years every contest) in their dirt event , the judging deffinatly is bullshit sometimes but apparently who gets invited is to

On that dirt note a good park example is how chase hawk and Sergio Layos are in although I love their riding in a contest sense those guys are years and years behind compared to guys who aren't invited like Logan Martin,Harry main and mark Webb , last year bezanson deffinatly got robbed of gold he went higher then hawk did as many transfers and actually did tricks , their deffinatly is to much politic bullshit in bmx

Not enough of these contests are about
Bmx itself like it should be but making headlines like the hometown kid won gold , hate to admit it but bmx could use a lesson from freestyle motocross , your not going to see any hometown kids in that sport winning with stylish dead sailors , the guys who risk it win it

I'd be stoked if Doyle shut me up and threw a backflip in dirt because i know he can do them but he's been doing the same run since 2001 and it's gotten boring in a contest format

Obviously! Street is street, a park even if it has "street" obsticles, is still a park.

Seems like park and dirt judging has been more based more on style and not number of tricks the past couple years.

Yeah. This year it's another big bowl. With this year's lineup, I'm guessing it's going to be a showdown between Enarson, Bezanson, Kris Fox, or Sergio Layos.

X-games was fun to go to, even if they have done a lot of dumb things. It was interesting to sit in the crowd, a football field distance away from the mega ramp as Morgan and the others totally kill it. They also had a bunch of other good shit, like a mini skatepark that you could ride (they provided bikes and boards), skateboarding lessons, a little pump track, giveaways, and lots of hot girls at the Toyota booth. I even got my hat signed by Scotty Cranmer and Drew Bezanson. I had the best time ever. No hate towards X-games from me.
