I've never aired a ramp or bowl as I'm still getting used to bmx really and haven't tried it yet. I do get air at my local race tracks though, lately been clearing the jump which I'm quite happy about. First time I got air was when I finally got round to actually riding my BMX a year or so after I got it. Went at a jump at full pelt and took off and crashed and burned. Had to go to hospital and have gravel picked out of my knee. Learnt my lesson and lean back into it so I land back wheel first

The first time I got air was a long time before I actually started riding bmx , I was in third or fourth grade and had a hot wheels bike from Walmart with kick back brakes and every weekend and after school everyone would go Down to my neighbor's house and use the "jumps" my neighbor could actually go pretty high and everyone else could get a little bit but I sat there and watched but one day I went down without anyone else and only my neighbor was there and I really wanted to get air. So I went way back and pedaled as fast as I could at that time at a medium sized jump and I luped out and I almost cried until my neighbor was like "come on dont cry" so I sucked it up turned around and got air and both of us celebrated by yelling.

Long long long time ago... Maybe a small mound of 1 ft... On my small hi tensile, shitty mountain bike... Probably weighs 3x more than my current bmx...
Dad was having fun on it, just getting small pops, enticing me to do it too... I just went back, pedaled, and wham, went into the air... I was as stiff as a rock so I landed weirdly, front wheel first. I lost control for a while then the back wheel slammed into the ground, went skidding a bit, then rolling away...
I was so stiff and didn't know how to pump a jump or anything for that matter, getting air was super scary. I even crashed sometimes...
But look at where I am know, getting 3-4 ft of air at speed, damn, if my past kiddo self was here, he (me) would be like...shocked...to...death...
But some of the crashes have traumatized my inner self, so when I have a new jump (getting bigger and bigger), I hesitate launching myself for...maybe three months... It's this stupid thing at the back of my mind, but when I finally jump it, it's fun and I want to do it again... I am afraid of being afraid now...

We found a termite mound and we decided to "re-shape" it.
We took our mountain-bike and jumped it.
Probably got 1-2 inches of air. lol
This was 2006-2007 ish.
I may have a clip somewhere. lol

You gave people an hour and a half to respond, and on a Friday afternoon. They were probably out riding after school since 99% of the riders on here are in middle/highschool.
And my first time jumping a bike I was like 8 and we made ramps on the island in our culdesac thingy. A few boards and a chunk of plywood spelled good times.
