any ideas to make back end much wider im running a 2.4 tires it fits right but i shortend the dropout so the chainstay will become less so the bike will become more responsive but the clearance now is just like as thin as a paper clip

That's definitely the best solution haha. But running giant tires does feel much better than smaller ones.

I agree, big tyres feels better but you should try a 2.25" on the back.
2.25" / 2.40" is a great combo.

Good if it works for you, but for him (admxrain) who need a bit more room i advice the primo lee dennis tire in 2.30", it is thinner than some 2.25" tyres i got like the bsd donnasqueak or the flybikes tyre, not much but there is a difference of room with a great big tyre feeling (i had run 2.10 on the back in the past but I like 2.25" better, never had a try on a 2.40", my fork miss of room for it and there's nothing to do except keep running 2.25").

I hate the feel of big tires , feel so slow and sluggish , I got some 2.1 slicks now and don't ever plan on going bigger , running around 100 psi and my bike picks up speed fast as fuck I'm loving it

dent your chain and seatstays to make it fit, doesnt comprimise the structure at all, totally worth it because wider tires r sweg

Ok so what i gained from this is, the extra wide tyre (which doesn't actually gain you any traction as the surface area touching the ground doesn't increase as there is no more noticeable area touching the ground) is clearly better, no worries enjoy your heavier tyres for the sacrifice of swag. I will stick to being able to fit my tyres into a normal frame no matter the frame or CS length

Same here, dislike the feeling. I went back to the good ol' 2.10 front 1.85 rear. It was always the best combo.

Exactly. Its getting really annoying that very few companies are making tires less than 2.1 wide. I've always loved a 1.9 in the back.

just went back to 2.1 ghls front and back. bestly setup. fuck big tyres, i dont have time for truing my wheels every ten minutes because theres only 0.001mm clearance.

Huge tires look silly too bulging off tiny rims unless you're like 250+lbs
