If there are no threads on them simply put a little bit of grease on the bearing edges and some on the inside of the bearing cups of the frame. I set my frame on the a couple of 2x4's and then put the bearing into the cup as far as you can by hand, take another 2X4 and put it on top and smack that shit with a hammer. If you have a rubber mallet you can simply hit the bearing itself.

If removing, I simply take a socket extention and slide it through one side and place it against the inside of the other and hit the socket extension with a hammer and tap it out. Flip it over and repeat.

Use the socket extension technique. It has a larger serface area and you can hit it pretty hard with a hammer. Tap on one side of the bb, say the right side and then slide the extension over to the left side and smack it. The idea is to keep it coming out evenly.
