Ive been a member on here for years now but gave up riding because of full time employment (grown up things) anyway I still have my bike and am thinking of getting back in to it again. Whats new with the community? New technology? Im still stuck on the old primo mix double sprung 9t cassette and such so feel free to inform guys.

OSS and TCU tried to turn BMX into skateboarding, and, in doing so, made 90% of BMX riders enjoy the taste of penis.

But srsly. Nothing has really changed technology wise. Odyssey still makes the best forks, Tree still makes the best sprockets, etc. It's just the trends that have changed. Freecoasters are cool now, the people that made fun of them 2 years ago now think they're the best things ever. Colored tires are popular and it makes me vomit. Riding 4 pegs is cool now, too, yet 95% of people only ever use two of them. And you can't be a good rider unless you smoke weed and brag about it.

Dirt riders are still the metalheads of bmx, freecoasters are more popular, plastic pegs are more popular, 4 piece bars made a low-key comeback, a few new or tweaked freecoaster designs, that's about it

Hahaha. I'd say the major changes are definitely freecoasters and i guess you could say oil slick? Since I always see kids riding bikes that look my driveway after my shitty saturn has sat in the same spot for a few days. 15 second instagram edits are slowly replacing the finesse and true art of real videos. RodeoPeanut has become the wikileaks of bmx and its kind of funny.

Bigger & bigger bars, top load stems, stacked headsets, investment casting, huge tires, female hubs, chromoly guards, flangeless hubs, tripod seats, socket drive & spline drive sprockets, 2pc cranks, freecoasters, oil slick parts, colored & gum tires, shorter cranks, are all things that have blown up in the last few years since you've been out of it.

This sums it up very well.
Oh yeah all edits must have shitty rap music, the height of your front end must be out of proportion to the rest of your bike (bars must hit around 12 inch rise with spacers and topload stem), tires must also be massive and silly looking ie 2.4 and ridiculous colors. light bikes are gay now only heavy bikes are cool. Sunday/odyssey no longer do cool LE colors. 4 piece bars are cool now, slammed seats aren't cool anymore either.

Glad to see not much has changed I remember when freecoasters first came out and we're expensive as crap. I'm still a cassette man myself sad to say

What? Spacers in your stem? No more weight weenies? I can understand the big wide bar thing for balance and I was running big tires back then (2.3 front and 2.1 rear) never been a fan of colored tires. Is the 2 different color rim thing still cool? Along with riding brakeless?

Just there's less of them (or so it seems)
and big bars serve a purpose, but the insanely huge bars that are being made nowadays are just overkill unless you're like 8ft tall.
I don't remember a time 2 different colored rims was ever a thing though so idk there haha I remember when one color up front & chrome in just the rear was though. As for brakeless riding, it's still there. Front brakes are seemingly coming back some, as Odyssey & Tree make forks with brake mounts on them now, but I haven't seen too many people with them.

Weight weenies have been replaced with guys with small dicks that say "You don't have a 35 lbs bike? Clearly you're a pussy."
I don't remember a time when 2 different color rims was a cool thing, except with a chrome rim in the rear for trails. I wouldn't say anything has changed there.
Brakeless riders still make up a majority unfortunately, but brakes are making a comeback, especially front brakes.

That's what I mean with the 2 different color rim thing haha should have been more specific I guess it's not about what you can do but how you bike looks not huh? And 35 pounds that's nuts. 27 pounds used to be considered heavy. I see the gsport rollcage and odyssey rims are still the go to brands

I remember when I got my bike to 27-28lbs and was amazed at how light it was.
There's still people out there who even get on this forum asking how to make their 23lb bike lighter cause it's too heavy for them, which usually gets trolled within minutes.
