I prefer plastic pedals with a designated grind side.
You will make them last a long time if you do that.

|

Plastic - jcpc's
Metal - trailmixes

|

I'm a punk bmxer, I can't do it well so I do it loud.

This. You can also glue some fishing weights to the inside part of the grind side to make them stay on the down side, if you do it right, that is.

Odyssey JC/PC. Stay away from plastic pedals with Clear/Translucent bodies. They are very fragile & will crack/shatter eventually. Look for Nylon or Nylon/Fibreglass Blend.

Shut the fuck up. You want pedals that last yet won't buy metal?

Metal Pedals.

|

6/24/2013 2:15 PM

Haha pedal slides, fun as crap but nothing will wear a plastic pedal out quicker. When i did pedal slides, i put sharpie on a white odyssey twisted for the side i knew to ride on where it wouldnt wear off. i grinded one side of them too. But Any plastic will wear out if you grind on it itself, but i think maybe eclat pedals last the longest out of the plastics. But for pedal grinds, get either odyssey JcPcs or twisteds. the pins grind right off so they dont mess up until you actually get to the bearings and axle haha

Your going to spend more on buying more plastics in the long run then one set of metal pedals.........and complaining about shinners in bmx is just being a pussy

This. I've run one set of unsealed Trailmixes in the same time that all my friends have gone through 3 sets of plastics. If they spent $15 on each set, that's $45, which is $10 more than what I spent on my Trailmixes. And my Trailmixes are still going strong after two years.

I got some super tenderizers for 20 bucks to practice pedal grinds, and ended up keeping em on cuz they look pimp. If you got a grinder you can shape em how you want, theyre just big chunks of aluminum basically.

I'm running deco pc2 pedals. Plastic with metal pin, they do pedal grinds fine. Before these I ran demo teams and s&m 101s. Get metal pins at the least. Btw both those pedals above look new still

i bought twisted , and took one side of each pedal to a grinder , that way i never have my foot on the bald side , so the bald side is always down , makeing it perfect for petal slides

I found that the Ravagers are really strong but the pins wear out way too fast, at least for me.
All around Twisted PCs are the most solid ones even though I don't like the feel of them.

Got deity pedals the compound model grip more than jcpcs, trailmixes, hamiliton metals, etc etc and they are nylon and slide beautifully, sealed bearings, rebuildable, Thin as premium pcs but last way longer. going on a year and they arent shot yet.
