they are far so I need to choose online and go fetch or have it delivered.
I'm 1.8 meters (6 foot)

Go with the first one.
Has the best parts and funny enough, I actually have the exact same pegs as those save for mine being silver. Definitely a flatland bike. Reminds me of the KHE goldfinger.

If you’re 6 foot, all of these will feel tiny to you.

I read for that height 21 or 22 inches is ideal
some of these are 20, I guess it would not be that bad

|

4/29/2020 11:29 AM

all of those are 20.

20 inch wheel size.

21 is a top tube measurement. we have no way to tell what size these bikes are but i'm guessing most don't have a 21 inch top tube.

a 20 inch wheeled bike could be a 20 inch top tubed bike or a 20.5 inch or 21 inch , etc. if that makes sense...

|

4/29/2020 11:32 AM

what I'm saying is... if the recommended for me is 21 then 20 shouldn't be that bad

|

4/29/2020 11:56 AM

what I am saying is, I don't think the top tube length is mentioned on any of those bikes you posted. So you don't actually know what size any of them are....

but yes. you could ride any one of those bikes if you just plan to pedal around and get from point A to point B.

All BMX bikes are 20", which refers to the wheel diameter, not toptube sizing as pnj said.

The toptube is the measure of the metal tube from the front of the frame to the seatpost, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of these bikes have toptubes in the 18" to 19" range as they are pretty much all department store kids bikes. Plus, you'd be surprised how massive a difference it is for a TT to be only an inch longer. Someone your height would be comfy on a 21" toptube.

ah I see so you're talking more about the size of the frame.
I thought just put the sit higher and that would do...

The only thing that changes when you do that is... the seat gets higher and nothing else lol.

Granted, you do get more leg room, but you also get higher up over the bars, which are already gonna be a back-breaker, I imagine.

doesn't the maneuvre go up as well?

|

4/29/2020 1:25 PM

the bars won't go up. Some lower end bikes do have an adjustable stem (the part that holds the bars) so you could move it up, but it's not safe to move it up too high so it doesn't really give you much adjustment.

Look for the bikes with taller handlebars and then raise the seat.

I'm assuming you're just going to be sitting and pedaling? not standing up and not doing stunts..?

You can get away with almost any bike if that is the case.

based on what i can see from your pics.. I'd pick one of the bikes i listed below..

Toronado
Either of the GT bikes (the white or black one, not the blue one)

Honestly, yeah, a BMX isn’t suited for point A-to-B riding, especially bikes that you’re looking at here.

isn't that the most basic function of any bicycle?

Yes but if you’re trying to freestyle, get a bmx bike, but if you aren’t trying to do tricks, getting a multi-speed bike like a road cycle or a mountain bike is a much more economical idea than a single speed bmx. That’s not to say it’s the worst for transportation bicycle wise, honestly trials bikes are the worst for traveling since you pretty much can jog faster than they can pedal but at the same time...

it really depends on how far you want to ride.

for local, short trips any bike will work. If you're commuting 10 miles to work, something with bigger wheels is going to get you there faster and probably in more comfort.

I have FOR SURE rode my bmx bike MANY MANY miles. in one day. I was not in a hurry to get to where I was going though...

|

4/29/2020 3:18 PM

the problem is don't have a good place to store the bike.
that's why I was looking for something small that hopefully I can carry up the stairs to where I live.
otherwise yeah I would have bought a mountain bike with 21 gears and big wheels..... it costs the same.

|

4/29/2020 3:35 PM

Yea. good reason to want a bmx bike.

You can take the pegs off if you're not going to use them. that makes it easier to store in an apartment, etc.

|

4/29/2020 3:46 PM

so the fact that all these bicycles are small could be an advantage.
something like this could also work but it seems to be more expensive and also doesn't look too cool

If you could find one of those for a good price, I'd say that's your best bet.
