Okay so I a while ago I went brakeless and then my dad told me to put my brakes on after a while for no reason (Whatever) so I have everything set on the bike but the cable that the brake arms (I don't know what their called) pinch onto is ruined and kinda stripped and I can't adjust the brakes and stop the brake pads from not touching my tire. Does anyone know what that cable is called? PLEASE HELP!

Straddle cable? Adjust any other part of the cable tension. You know you have to adjust the spring tension on the brakes right?

that would be the straddle cable and there are plenty of other points of adjustment so it shouldnt be too big of a deal

Go to a bike shop as you clearly have no idea what you're doing

You should be running brakes because you can learn fun things with brakes.

Also, if you don't know why your dad said to put them back on, you should apologize for ignoring him, and realize that he wants you to have them FOR SAFETY because he cares about you and doesn't want you to get hurt.
