longer = more stable, harder to lift
shorter = less stable , easier to lift up

that why trail bike have 14- 13.75

depends what you ride
I ride 13.65 and i like it
I would recommend 13.65 or 13.75
I tried a tierra and its easy to pull up like effortless but hard to keep

I ride a "over-exaggerated" trails frame. The geo sucks ass on my frame but my parents don't know shit about geo, so they say i do not need a new frame.

Here is the geo of my frame, and keep in mind i only ride street!
Head Tube 74° Seat Tube 70°
Top Tube 20.5" Chain Stay 14.5" (and i am 5' 11" so i am cramped as fuck on my frame!)

i had a tierra and rode trails on it all the time, and tbh once your used to the frame it doesn't make too much difference, the only noticeable difference is when you first switch just like bar size!

short cs is easyr to get into the manual harder to keep up
long cs is hard to get up easy to keep up

short cs also makes your bike feel more responsive like a steep ht

cs length has nothing to do with height

Also if you go from a long chainstay to a short one, and you run pegs. you got to learn to not hit your pegs haha... takes a few days

Dude pay attention to what threads you are posting in, the last post in this thread before yours was from 2010, I'm not even sure anyone who posted in here is an active member on this forum anymore! IF you want to see a 14.5" Chain Stay look up older S&M Frames, Dirt Bike, Holmes the OG ones not the new re-makes.
