crankarm slide problems help!!

when I do crankarms on ledges, I land on my pedals first, my friends call this a pedal slide, once im on my pedal i drop to my crankarm. Also I cant crankarm rails, only ledges, I watched all the how to and every time i hit my sprocket any tips?

Too much of an angle will make you hit your sprocket. Go pretty parallel to the rail. Hop, pull over and do an opposite 90 and push down on your front pedal. Getting out is just pulling a bit and turning out. Dont forget while you are in the grind to lean over the bars a bit, not too much, just so you stay level.
