Bmx is taking a hard hit cause kids these days turned into pussies and want to pick up scooters that require no talent , bmx is too hard for them , I've even heard multiple scooter kids at skateparks bluntly admit it

Is this possibly why everything is always on backorder? Like they dont order something until you want it so they dont have to pay for as much "sitting there not getting bought" stock?

I have actually heard that as well from some younger scooter riders. A 25lb bike (even though thats lighter than older bmx's) is still a lot of weight to throw around for a kid. Not impossible but a lot of parents dont want to spend money on multiple bikes that are more appropriate for their kids size (16", 18" etc.).
that really sucks.
off topic by why do you have that shitty comic sans font????

Could be related to the statements I saw where they "owe brands a bunch of money". Maybe they "buy on credit" with brands, and brands ultimately cut them off when they don't pay for previously shipped product.
Either way it will be interesting.
Make sure you support brands in this tough time.

Sad to see. DansComp was part of what started my infatuation with bike parts and then BMX riding years ago.
local shops and distributors are starting to shit the bed up in canada , hate to say it guys but company's that start selling direct like how mafia and eastern are doing it is going to be the way it's done in the future , not enough money in bmx these days with this scooter infestation , if companies want to survive they're going to realize it's time to cut the middle man and start selling direct
I've noticed their inventory dwindling down the past year. They don't have anything in stock. This is sad news indeed. The original mail order.
Such a sad day indeed. I remember waiting to get the new catalogs in the mail back when I was a kid. Me and my buddies would spend hours and hours flipping through them.
Honestly i'm only bummed for the pro riders who lost a paycheck. Dans hasn't really been contributing to bmx besides sponsoring riders. If you have a local shop that cares about bmx at all, then that is who you should buy from. Or If you don't have a local, you could order from my local shop powersbikeshop.com
I love my bike but i hate myself

Bummed that all the good people who rode for them suddenly have to find a way to make up or adjust for the lost pay . I haven't seen any rider NOT represent Danscomp well . I really hope they work out ? I imagine they didn't want this to happen obviously , but I feel as if dropping the whole team instead of just certain riders to slim the crop was the appropriate thing to do .
Unfortunately people need to realize BMX is a small community and have to support the places that are good , especially now more than ever .

I've noticed this too. I built a whole new bike this year and danscomp hardly had anything I was looking for. Most of the parts I have came from source bmx.
dan's comp shirts are good for cum rags...that's about it. I'll stick to my local bike shop and flatlandfuel.com lol
It’s all bmx

The problem with "Dan's Comp" & the others is that they undersold local shops so much that it's really hard to find a good variety of stuff with a local shop these days. I have a friend that owns a shop & I was asking him about what he could get. He said "We don't even deal in BMX any longer. We can't compete with Dan's Comp, etc...." (That's pretty much a direct quote). That's a tough business when kids just shop the best price without thought to what it does to local shops.
My local shops will always be my first choice. Have a couple options and I'm cool with the guys that run each. Dan's was a "plan b" for me. But flipping through the catalogs growing up was always cool to me.
I always try and support the local guys. I even have a local shop that my buddy works at so I get a discount, but most shops don't carry much anymore like you said. as much as i like to shop local its hard when they don't have much in stock
I was talking to someone of the guys in and around Dans. Seems that they over do stuff and well it has caused big problems. I can’t go into much detail.
that sort of sucks...especially b/c one of my local shops gets some of their stuff from Dans...some of the stuff that they don't want to keep in stock. I can see though, how a place like Dan's can deflate the local shop scene. Our other shop is weird because the guy refuses to carry brands he doesn't like and that limits me to Haro, Fitbike and SE. Maybe this will poke him into widening his selection....

Really sucks, I understand the support local shop thing but for me that's not possible as I don't have one, the one bike shop in my town won't deal in bmx so only way I can get parts is through mail order
Ride till you die
I haven't ordered from dans in years, due to lack of parts that I wanted, ironically enough. I'll stick to the secret BMX and my local shops. Still a shame that all those riders got dropped.
Wow... I've never ordered from them, but this is quite the heavy-hitting article...
