I'm pretty sure my axle shouldn't have to be that far back but if I take a link out of my chain it will be touching the chain stay or what ever its called

try to take one link out and add a half link... they are only like 20 cents. If that doesnt work you might have to get a smaller rear tire... Say a 2.1 nightvision faf

Half link. Even just one will help SO MUCH.
Downside to older frames/completes.

Like said above a half link should solve that or you'll need a smaller tire

I blame the huge tyre trend, some of us would rather run larger gearing and brakes than a harley tyre.
This
I run 2.10" tyres i have heaps of room but still cant fit a 33T sprocket on. Its so shit
I run 9-30 but if i Could id be running 10-40 or up in that high ratio

You might be able to run a 2.4 up front then keep the 2.25 in the back if the halflink works.... Thats still a good large combo.
I wasnt aware it was a trend people told me they're better for balance but now my back wheels is too far back on my drop out so its thowing me all off :p so 2.1 fit fafs it is since the half link didn't work:p but Thanks guysss
