putting the frame serial no. on the inside of the bottom bracket, where the bearing sits... any thoughts on that?

why? and i dont think it would be a good idea, it would be a lot harder to see the numbers and you would have to take out the bearings just to see it

Maybe try writing it down and keeping track, also register it.

The downside is to ID the bike it would have to be disassembled.

If youre bike gets stolen, and a cop suspects he found it, he would have to sit there and take the bike apart to find the serial no.
My bike got stolen and cops refused to look for it because I didn't know the serial number.
