ok, so im having a hard time doing the 180 fakie roll back. i have the 180 dialed, except its really hard for me to roll back, ive been practicing this trick for over a month now, and i havent landed it once. i normally land on my back wheel, idk if thats the problem or not, cuz when i land on my back wheel it seems like it slows me down, idk tho. and if i do get in the roll back, i can never bring it back around, i either turn the bars too much, or i just am going to slow and i just fall over lol. ive been trying to go faster, and it seems like its making it easier, but i still havent done it yet. and sometimes i get too much rotation, like i almost land a 360 lol. any tips on how to do these. thanks in advance for the advice.

i have the exact same fucking problem, and yeah speed helps me to have the opportunity to roll back to begin with, if im going to slow i dont roll back, but either way i cant ride out.

sometimes say ur ridin down a straight line tht is painted on the ground and u 180 and land like a foot to the left or right of the line it causes u to stop or slow down alot so u have to have a little speed and try to stay as center as u can when ur learnin them until u get good and ull be able to correct how u land and get out of it anyway

work on fakies by themselves. thats what i did when i learned. just go up a ramp or something and roll back. it still takes a while but at least then you don't have to worry about the 180 part

Some people just cant do it. I cant. It always held me back to. There were so many combos that I wanted to do but I just couldnt do it. I got a freecoaster and then things just came really quick. Freecoasters are alot of maintenance, but it really depends on how you ride. I'm a pretty heavy dude and I'm kinda rough on the hub. I replace the bearings alot, but It's worth it to me. To each there own.

This is something you just gotta learn over time. Been working on these ever since I started riding and I still don't have them totally dialled after 2 years. It's all in your head too, not thinking about it adds precision.

180's suck to learn. Whenever I do mine i get the 180 but i always end up rolling forward not backward. Im like WTF!!!!! even if i get enough speed i still just stop.

yea you def. have to get the rollback b4, then once u get that when u 180 try to keep the bike strait and land on both wheels at the same time

|

11/10/2008 2:53 PM

yea thats what i have a hard time with, is landing oni both wheels. i cant, i even try really hard to land front wheel first, and i always land on back. and i have the same problem with the 360's, i get 270, i dont bitch out lol, i just cant get around enough.

sry about the double post
but i finally landed the thing today. it was pretty fucking ugly lol but i landed it, the trick for me was to think a bout going on a line, and jumping and landing back on the line for the 180, that helped out so much.

trails are not skateparks, they exist solely from the work and dedication of local riders. so next time you start complaining about not having local trails to ride, you only need look at yourself.
