inside-out grip idea

Another half baked product of my imagination.. What do you think of grips that have a pattern inside as well out, so that you can flip them when one side is worn..?. Lol, I know shits kinda random.. a thought I wanted to share. Why not? They'd probably need to be thicker in the middle, and maybe slide/twist on the bar easier.. but twice the grip in one is something I'd like to try out for myself.

Why not.

Hmm. I could see it maybe working but there are some things that wouldn't work about it. Like the grip would have to be a lot bigger unless the pattern could fold into itself to make a smooth surface for the side on the bar. And getting the grips on and off seems like it would mess them up.

Yup, it's not all that well thought out for sure. Good question..

Say the grip has a very specific internal pattern, most likely totally different from the outside, 'main' grip pattern. A very minimal pattern. Something simple, just enough to extend the life of a grip even a bit. I've always thought most grips to be on the skinny side, I wouldn't mind bigger.

If you want thick grips get fbm double fisters. I don't like thin grips but those things are just way to thick for me.

Better idea here.
grip wise I'd say like the darkest natural color would be best because its strongest so like jet black. I want it to give a head nod to Fuel Tv as well so it'd say fuel or something idk. Maybe the grip design that could be like molded like a mouthguard but can't melt too easy. Steel bars because they stand better to abuse. Oh and laser beams or something on the packaging that would look badass

Tfw Jet fuel can't melt steel beams

probably would be really weird cause i wear grips down to the bar if anything on one side there would have to be some sort of thing thats tells you to flip the grip or else itd just be a regular grip

Yeah, plus uneven wear.. everyone's got a unique grip style, some heavy thumbs, pinkies, or all around rough on grips. Can't please evryone.

wouldnt the inside get worn out from riding and being up against the bar?

I always thought about this but if you've ever ran an inside out grip before, it doesn't work very well, go ahead, grab an old pair of bars and an old grip, turn it inside out and try to put it on. It's hard.

Don't most people wear a narrow spot all the way through?

You're thinking, and I like that. But I don't think this would work so well.

That'd be my big problem. Sometimes i wear one spot on it through really bad. The thing that'd be the best is a grip with multiple types of compound. Like on the part where it wears worst (about 3 inches from the end of the grip for me, it has a denser, harder compound that wears very slowly. and the rest is the cushy part. it may not be the MOST comfy, but it'd be good for those on a budget.

Forreal.I had those grips too, that shit wore down in a week for me. I ride like 3 hours a day at the very least everyday. I legitimately need to change my grips out every 3 weeks or so depending on what I ride and the grip. My Last pair of grips lasted maybe 2 weeks before i could touch bar.

The Adam Banton Odyssey grips are actually pretty nice, they're rather hard but they're not super long so barspins and control tricks are easy because they force me to grip wider. I did a rail ride to bar today for the first time and I literally creamed my pants.

But really I just like grips that last, my favorite ever is the Tom Dugan Odyssey Grip. They're the best of any.

I love my Dugans. I've had them for almost 11 months now and they're just starting to look decently worn. Probably got another half year on them. To be fair, though, I don't ride as much now but I'm still impressed. They're super comfy and grippy in all conditions, too.
