i need a new chain, i probably have like a moth left on mine before i throw it out, is it likely that the keychain will drop by then, if it doesnt, what is the most durable chain you've ridden?

Most durable chain I've ever ridden is the Wippermann 1G8. I'm waiting for the Keychain to drop as well. I wanna see if its as strong as it looks.

I only got it because I broke three chains in a month, and it was just as I was getting ready to ride all three times. It sucks getting amped and having equipment failure before you start. It's lasted around a year so far, with no signs of wear. But I did have to go to 28-10 ratio. It doesn't like bending around the 9t cog. The flat plates keep it from fully engaging the teeth.

I don't give a shit about the Keychain. It'll probably cost twice what my Dropbuster did.

"But it has that cool allen key thing Collin, Don't you want to make it easier to take off your chain?"
I have a regular masterlink. All I need to take off my chain are needle nose pliers.

"But you'll already have an allen key in your tool bag, so its more convieniant"
I already have needle nose pliers in my tool bag

No offense to Odyssey, hell, half my parts are Ody, but the keychain is an unnecessary evolution of the chain. Get a chain tool, learn to use it and be done with it.
Got an Ody Bluebird, btw, damn nice chain, especially the half link coming with it, it rocks.

i disagree... Chain tools are easy to figure out but unless you buy a good quality one then youre likely to break them. and all a chain breaker does is push the mushroom of it thru a smaller hole.. so if you take it off multiple times youll destroy the chain because the mushroom at the end wont be there... i dont know exactly how the key chain works but you get rid of both those problems. also that brings up the question.. are only the master links using the allen? do you still need to break a chain with anormal chain breaker.. if thats the case then yes its a waste but if the whole thing is made of allen key pins then its a genius idea.

The fact that the keychain eliminates the need for a chain breaker should be enough of a reason to buy it . I break a chain breaker almost every time i have to use one on my chain so that'll save more than enough to make it worth the price. plus even if all the links aren't allen key, you really only need to break your chain once tto get it to the right length so you never need anything but an alan key to take your chain on and off once you get it to the right length

LMFAO!

I got a Wipperman 1r8 it was like 30, shit is so solid. Allen pins sound like more of a pain than a convenience.

i break chain breakers pushing pins out... i just dont see it.. its not like i have to take my chain off very often.. again if they did it like they originally planned with every link having a allen key pin then i would buy it in a heart beat but i more then likely wont be buying it unless its an average price...

Last I heard was a few allen pin links, you size to your need, and then for those who slam their wheel and need a chain tool to change a tube, this eliminated that chain tool.

I can see good things from it. We shall see how it does. I will definitely check it out.

The keychain is a good idea but I personally will still keep my chain breaker with me even if I buy it so that way I can help out other people I ride with.
