Has anyone got any tips to lighten up the bike because the front end is light but the back is quite heavy.

Thinner rear tire, and switch to a Kevlar bead. Lighter chain.... take off the pegs....
If your bike is anywhere in the 24-26 pound range it is a good weight IMO.

Cut fork steerer tube (within reason)
Cut bars
18 inch tubes
Thinner folding tires
Ti spindle, dont waste time or money with ti bolts
Plastic pedals
Slim seat
Lighter wheels
Ti spokes
Lighter cranks
Not sure what youre riding.

People who run thin tires and tubes are dumb as hell. WEIGHT WEENIE ALERT! Only racers would need those, but even then, most of them don't even run them either.

I run thin tires. Less rotating weight, and I DON'T SUCK AT GRINDS AND BLOW OUT SIDEWALLS. Plus they were cheap. My Momentums lasted TWO YEARS before I replaced them because I got a great deal on another set.
As far as racers, have you ever been to a track? MOST racers buy the lightest EVERYTHING they can, especially those who have been racing for more than half a season. Powerblocks, Powerbands, Maxxis DTH tires are the most common, and guess what? Those are some of the lightest tires out there, with the THINNEST sidewalls and treads.
Also, this jackassery is what I hate about BMX. Instead of answering a question, you comment something that makes you look like an asshole. Why would you treat a newer rider like that?
Damn kids.

Pretty much all racers run thinner tyres, it means there is less rotational weight.
But I think he meant thin as in low width (eg. 1.95").
